Umm, Wut's up Doc?

Doctors versus gun owners... didja know...

There are 700,000 physicians in the United States...

Number of accidental deaths by physicians per year are 120,000...

which makes the average number of accidental deaths per physician to be 0.171...

(Statistics courtesy of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.)

Now consider these stats...

There are approximately 80 million gun owners in the United States...

The number of accidental deaths, per all age groups, in the United States per year is 1,500...

which means that every gun owner in America has killed .000188 persons per year...

(Statistics courtesy of the F.B.I.)

So, statistically, doctors are 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Fact number three: not everyone in America owns a gun (though they should),but everyone will see a doctor. Before your next appointment, consider this: You are 900 times more likely to be killed by your doctor than by a gun owner.

So, please, alert all your family and friends of this new threat to our health. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!

The new mantra for gun owners should be, "Guns don't kill people-- doctors do."

(Out of concern for the public-at-large, I have withheld the stats on lawyers out of fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.)

Bless God, God bless.

  1. There are few things in our society that are safer than owning a gun. Swimming, playing football, driving a car - whatever. But the Gun Grabbers have done an excellent job in playing up the few deaths that occur.

We average around 40,000 people killed in automobile accidents each year. Clearly cars need to be banned. They are a menace to society!

  2. Thank You for posting this! I love your blog - keep up the great work!!

    ps. Link Exchange???

  3. My Doc is a shooter and reloader and has a permit to carry! I'm still not comfortable where he puts his finger sometimes.

  4. Yep, let's ban knives too. And clubs. Hammers. Chainsaws. Diving boards. Swimming pools. Boats, oh man are THOSE things dangerous! Stiletto heels. Baseball bats. Rocks.....

  5. Do you realize that commoncents posts that same comment on every blog of any degree of popularity. I get it on almost every post. Once in a great while a word is changed but it's obvious it's written to apply to any blog post ever.

I posted a comment back in reply that such "spamming" is not welcome, but they didn't respond, just continued to send me the spammy comments.

    Just an FYI.

Hi YeOldFurt and Mayberry, this too made me smile. I now am going to get into my umpteen ton truck, on 4 hours sleep and no coffee and hit the highway in the capital. Good thing I don't have a dangerous gun with me.

I believe in the First Amendment and so should you. Speak your mind and piss on political correctness!
