Umm, Wut's up Doc?

Doctors versus gun owners... didja know...
There are 700,000 physicians in the United States...
Number of accidental deaths by physicians per year are 120,000...
which makes the average number of accidental deaths per physician to be 0.171...
(Statistics courtesy of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.)
Now consider these stats...
There are approximately 80 million gun owners in the United States...
The number of accidental deaths, per all age groups, in the United States per year is 1,500...
which means that every gun owner in America has killed .000188 persons per year...
(Statistics courtesy of the F.B.I.)
So, statistically, doctors are 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Fact number three: not everyone in America owns a gun (though they should),but everyone will see a doctor. Before your next appointment, consider this: You are 900 times more likely to be killed by your doctor than by a gun owner.
So, please, alert all your family and friends of this new threat to our health. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!
The new mantra for gun owners should be, "Guns don't kill people-- doctors do."
(Out of concern for the public-at-large, I have withheld the stats on lawyers out of fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.)
Bless God, God bless.

Madness
In the 'normal' world, .22 rifles held to the same basic configuration as 'real' rifles and pistols. If you bought a .22, it probably looked just like Dad's (or Grampa's) deer rifle. Just smaller. Well, kind'a, anyway. Bolt action, lever, pump, semi-auto and single shot.
After being around for half a zillion years in its current configuration, Idaho based CCI ammunition decided they were going to get on the bandwagon of 'hi power' and 'hi speed' .22 ammo and developed the MiniMag and Stinger series. And the race was on to see who could develop the 'best' .22 round around.
For my money, it's the CCI Stingers- not knocking the other makers, but Stingers really have some ZING! and they function in every .22 weapon I have, and that's a lot of guns!
Around 1960, someone decided to start using Mattel, Inc., to manufacture weapons and the era of plastic guns evolved, beginning with the Colt AR16. Every weapon manufacturer in the world jumped on this wagon and now produce millions of 'plastic' weapons yearly.
Today, these plastic (though not entirely plastic or Mattel Tinkertoy) have been made in every caliber imaginable- except one. You could walk into a gun shop or discount store (that sold guns) and purchase an AR15 in .223, .308Winchester, or half a dozen other calibers. You can even buy a barrel for your .223 that is chambered for .22.
But it was not not specifically a .22.
Guess what.
Last visit to the club's indoor range sure was an eye-opener as to what's happening in the world of the little .22. At the loading bench, where most people usually shoot pistols/revolvers, there was an array of M15 look-alikes. All chambered for .22.
Of course, they were all enthusiastic about displaying and handing around (keep the muzzle downrange!) their newest weapon for inspection. One een went so far as to allow 'moi' to shoot his Ruger SR22!
OOPS!
A little Internet action and an amazing discovery was made. Many manufacturers have caught on to the military look-alike .22, both American and European. (I'm imagining that much of this has to do with 'prepper-itis' and the vast number of 'prepper gurus' who advocate a .22 for survival, some even for self defense use. But I may be wrong. It might just have to do with how many people just want to shoot as much and as cheaply as they can.)

Smith and Wesson (www.smith-wesson.com) has come out with their latest creation, the M&P15-22, and they're pushing the envelope with an advertising campaign sure to ignite the hearts and minds of every small-arm shooter alive. Did I mention it's American made? MMMMM, delicious and, as the ad says, 'pure adrenaline'! And if it's like other S&Ws I've shot, it really will 'kick brass'. I couldn't find a price for it though I've heard it's on the lower end of the dollar spectrum for this style of rifle.
The first of the breed I have been allowed to play with, the Ruger SR22 ( www.ruger.com ) is almost a whole new rifle, yet based on the 10-22 action. It handled well, balanced nicely and uses the same magazines as the 10-22, which is wonderful interchangeability. I liked the pistol grip configuration- a lot easier on my wrist, which doesn't like to articulate the way it's supposed to. Blasting off 35 rounds of .22 LR to the target downrange was nothing but fun. (Honestly, even more fun than blasting 35 rounds downrange with my 'regular' .22- which is a Remington 597.)
Not to be outdone, or even left out of the game, Colt has come out with their M4-22LR. Nothing says "Black Rifle" like a Colt (BIG grin here), the 'original' Mattel gun. This is one rifle sure to catch on with aficionados of Colt and original M15 actions. Go to www.colt22rimfire.com to see their catalogue.
Coming from the European market, but made in American factories, is the SigSauer 522. Right- it's a clone of big brother Sig515 series military weapons. Head to www.sigsauer.com to view their offerings. (Special note: the Picatinny rails are compatible with components for all the 'bigger siblings' of these weapons. Flashlights, scopes, lasers, whatever your heart desires to throw on.) I've tacked on an 'estimated MSRP' for these weapons, but as with any item in demand and particular locale, prices will definitely vary so check your dealer.
But now the really 'good news' for all those who really don't have oodles and oodles of cash to throw at getting their very own Black Rifle...
There are two companies doing quite a bit of advertising for their 'aftermarket' products. To whit: composite stocks that will turn your .22 into a true Black Rifle.

Advanced Technology International, an American company based in Milwaukee,WS. (www.ATIgunstocks.com), has been around quite a while. When the original issue stock went out on the .303 British inherited from Dad, I had visions of relegating the rifle to a wall decoration. Chance, and common cruising the aisles of a local sporting goods/gun shop, my eye fell on an "ATI Enfield Stock". At the lowly price of $59, I felt it was worth the cost just to be able to shoot the old Enfield. It definitely was, and is.
The rifle carried behind the seat of my truck is a Remington 597 with plastic stock. (Not really 'plastic' plastic, but the same thing.) I like the durability and consistency of the stock, the fact that it won't warp when wet or humid or rot due to same. But I do have an bone to pick with RemInc. about it. They told me I can't put a sling on it. If I do, I void all warranty expressed or implied. And at my age, a sling is not a toy, it's necessity. So I've been kinda grumpy about it.

True to their claims, ATI customer service is excellent. (I discovered this due to not knowing the model .303 I had - I know: put "DUH" face here!- but a phone call to the company and they squared me away, no cost. Their stocks are guaranteed, period. No questions. Pictured above is the ATI stock for Marlin Model 60's- and it fits all model 60s. Remove your old stock- save the screw- drop the action in the new stock, put in the screw you saved, and go have fun scaring the local Sarah Brady club with your new Black Rifle.
For those who love their SKS's but hate the stock, ATI has just the thing for you, too. The new, light, lifetime guaranteed SKS Fiberforce stock. Check their site- you'll be amazed at what they offer and for very reasonable prices.

At $199 (suggested from site), it may be a while since that's more than the rifle cost, good as it is and as much as I like it. But that bayonet mount is appealing...
The Marlin 870 has been my Squirrel Rifle for decades. It's my go-to rifle for nearly everything small bore, even survival. It's the only rifle in which I've spent more for accoutrement's than the rifle, and I baby this baby. Being the tack driver it is, I don't mind and for silhouette shooting I love it. (I remove the bipod, though rules don't specify I have to, I just can't use it.) Because of wrist problems, I'm in search of a thumbhole stock for it as well. Perhaps one day ATI or ProMag will make one.
Junior has a Ruger 10-22 and it's not babied at all. A really great rifle and probably the most recommended by survivalists and the most revamped rifle on the market, there are more after-market products for the 10-22 than most hot rods.
The Simmons 4x scope, made for the SKS, adds a Black Rifle appearance- he had an Aimpoint Red Dot on the rifle, but batteries tend to die and the Kid decided to make a change. Wise move, in my opinion. I much prefer the scope- and the Red Dot will go elsewhere (grin again). For magazines, he uses RamLine 30 rounders that give the banana clip appearance. A bonus to using the banana mags is the mag-release button is easier to hit with his thumb while grasping the magazine and pulling it out.

A really great rifle and probably the most recommended by survivalists and the most revamped rifle on the market, there are more after-market products for the 10-22 than most hot rods. But it comes from the factory with a birch stock- sturdy and serviceable, but it is wood and the Kid's has tendency to "warp and weft" as soon as he sneezes.
Once again, wandering through the local gun store, the eye made its second ATI discovery (and the reason for this post). ATI made a stock for the 10-22 and it actually looks good. The price was right- again, $59- and it made the change-over from wood another simple "save the screw", drop in the action, and replace the screw.
And it does make the Ruger look like a Black Rifle. Being lighter than the SR22, the rifle handles wonderfully and the thumbhole/pistol grip configuration is heaven to the wrist. The rifle is even light enough to hold pistol fashion.

Even if you have to drop the action in yourself. From the initial shooting of Ruger's SR22 to shooting the Kid's ATIRuger, I'm convinced there's not only a market for either product, but a big market.
And, as you can tell, this 'kid' has gone from being one who "doesn't need" a "Black Rifle" to one who will probably have one- if for nothing else but to harass Sarah Brady.
Bless God, God bless.

Google's gonna delete this post...

Today's one of those days my dandruff is really, really riled.
I'm fully expecting Google to delete this blog entry as they have a couple others where-in I ranted against voting for Mubarack Hussein Soterobama. It really pisses me off that even the web isn't free from censorship.
First, I have to apologise and ask forgiveness for my dander outbreak earlier today when I said something I really regret because it isn't how I think. But it turned out that way, so it sounds, even to me, that I must be thinking like this now.
I have to back up a bit...
Went to a gun show today. Held at an airport (international, at that) way back in the boonies. My expectations were pretty low. Expectations such as "I'll be the only one there," or "There'll be a few people showing up". How wrong I was! Getting there about noon, it was difficult to find a parking space within brief walking distance. Hundreds of cars filled the runway ramp. The hanger being used was filled with racks and tables of weaponry from knives to archery supplies. Not the least was guns. Thousands of guns. On the tables, in cases being carried, slung over shoulders, hanging on belts (and for sure some unseen on belts).
As I paid my $4 entry fee, I read a couple signs as I cleaned the steam from my specs. One sign clearly stated that "All guns entering premises must be unloaded and checked at counter". UGH.
"Does that include my personal carry?" I asked as the gent emblazoned my palm with the "paid entry" mark.
"I've been wondering about that," he told me. "But, I'm going to say 'no' since you're the only one to ask."
"Good," I told him, "cuz I wuz gonna ask for my fee back and leave."
He chuckled with me but the person behind me saw nothing funny about it. I went about my browsing.
On with the story.
I'd got into conversation with a few guys and some comment I don't recall was made about Tuesday. My reply was, "I don't care what that nigger says, he ain't my president."
Soon as I said it, hearing what I said, I realised how I'm thinking of the P.E. and was ashamed to be thinking like that. I hate prejudice toward skin color. Stupidity and ignorance are another matter. But to dislike someone because they 'look' different is unforgivable. And here I was showing stupidity.
My beef with the Dark Lord begins with his unwillingness to prove his eligibility for the office to which he was 'elected'. It also ends with that until he proves he is Constitutionally worthy. Until he proves he is qualified, he will not be my President, either. I don't care what the libs say, or the dems or my family or friends: it's what the Constitution says. Period. But there are many other aspects I am defiant with him about, as well, which I am going to get into.
The trouble is, thinking back on conversations with my Love, I've been showing the same prejudice. She knows me better than I know myself, but has not mentioned this. Perhaps she knows I don't think this way under 'normal' circumstances. And this critter heading for the Hallowed Halls is hardly 'normal'. Still, it's no excuse.
Now I'm rambling again. Sorry.
Let me begin with something that means as much to me as my Bible: the Constitution. No other document in human history has meant so much for so many. Not to so many, because too many either don't know or don't care about it. "Just words," as the Dark Lord would say. But they're words he wants to change, revamp to his idea of what they should be. Just like the fags who want to change the Bible to say what they want it to say. Typical liberal bullshit.
On the return home, I was half listening to the radio and the speaker mentioned this 'bite' by Soterobama as he was making his (ROFLMBO) 'historic' train ride: "He promised to bring the country "a new Declaration of Independence" -- free from small thinking, prejudice and bigotry." (The article is here: Train to Washington: Obama Makes Historic Journey Political News - FOXNews.com)
This isn't the first time I've heard him talk about changing the "out-dated and obsolete thinking in the Constitution". My blood boils each and every time some liberal MSM shithead talks about how the Constitution is a 'living' piece of paper and should be changed to meet today's world standards. That is bullshit so far as I'm concerned. It is an Iron Clad contract with the honest citizens of the United States of America and not available for change. Of course, it can be amended, as set forth in its own words. But it is not a document to be trifled with by a bunch of libs playing grab-ass in the shower.
It's common knowledge by any who are paying attention that the First Amendment is under attack with the "Fairness Doctrine" crap making the rounds of radio talk shows. People whose livelihood depend upon Freedom of Speech are making noise, know they could soon be out of work. Just as deplorable is the "political correct" speech. (I'll never be guilty of that, obviously.)
Churches are being told what they can 'preach' about. Gays and lesbians are insuring that. As are the abortion fanatics. (Two of the more well known and infamous groups.) Soon, if some politicians, Soterobama among them, have their way, we'll all be listening to every word our neighbors, or bystanders, say- just to report them to the Thought Police. Want verification? Check this: 'Hate crimes!' They're ba-ack! Of course, we all know that we can't always control what we say (egads! what am I saying?) , but when we have to worry about some knee-jerk lib running to the fuzz because we offended their pussy sensibilities, then we're in deep doodoo. The day may well come, if not already here, that the very words on this blog will land me in jail. Or you. Or your mother. Or Dad. Or your brother, or sister, or friend... you get the idea. I have no desire to go to jail, as I'm sure most don't, but it may be preferable to where they might send us 'criminals'. (Can you say "Gulag"?)
Coming from the worst offender of gun rights since the Brady Bunch formed, this statement should be a call to arms for any who hold the Constitution nearly 'holy' or who enjoy firearms ownership, shooting and Freedom: "I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the second amendment," Obama said at a news conference. "Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven't indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can take me at my word." Well, Mr Soterobama, I am going to take you at your word. Since your first step into the political world, your word has been "eliminate gun ownership" . That's enough for me. Article here: Obama: Don't stock up on guns :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: 44: Barack Obama So far as my money goes, it's heading for the gunshops- who are doing a wonderful business since the Dark Lord's ascendancy to the throne.
Speaking of ascending to the throne, check this out: Hail King Obama: President for life .
Here we go with more tinkering with the Constitution! Crowning himself king of kings may not be his idea, but it's being forwarded by politicos who have one desire: control of our lives. Of course, it'd sure be wonderful for the liberals to have someone in office they can manipulate, whose buttons they can push to get him to do their bidding. And, yes, I believe he is that weak a man. (So, obviously, it isn't 'just' Soterobama I'm pist at, is it? LOL)
Seriously: do you like the idea of a 'king' ruling your life with whatever whim he rises with?
How about a one-world governing body, such as the United Nations? Want them in your bedroom? In your kitchen? Your shop? Job? Want your kids coming home and telling you (that) whatever you say is meaningless, has no bearing on anything they do or say? That they can do as they please? Guess what. IF the U.N. gets it's foot in our country, that's where we're headed. And worse.
Here's a small sampling:Kissinger affirms call for 'new world order'
We have a Kraut whose been involved with our country's politics since I was a kid making bold statements as he is. Just guess how many are going to 'understand' this to be the way things 'should' be? It's way beyond time we kicked out of this country any person whose spouts a belief that America should bow to world opinion and ideas. America has no need to be 'appreciated' by the rest of the world. We have no need to be 'accepted' by the world. Personally, I couldn't give a friggin fork what the rest of the world thinks of America. We aren't here to please them. It's bad enough we feed half the world while our own are starving. Screw them, far as I'm concerned.
Yah- it's a hard line, but so what? So long as this country has people hungry or naked or sick, then to hell with the rest of the world until we take care of them.
America is the most giving country on the planet. We give more to help hurricane or flood or earthquake or famine or plague or drought victims than any. Unless it's for those at home. So screw the rest of the world. Let's take care of our own first. I'm sick and tired of getting mail from Appalachia telling me how hungry the kids are, how naked they are, how they can't afford notebooks for school and every damn third world nation in Africa is getting schools built and supplied by Oooprah and the like. I'm sick and tired of getting mail from Feed the Children telling me how hungry the kids are in downtown L.A. because of some drugged up mother who can't afford to feed them (but can afford drugs!) and we're sending all our food to Russia and China and most of Europe. Screw them. Let Europe and China starve until we have our hungry people fed.
...meanwhile back at the gun show...
Our gun club's Revolver Guru was there and talked me into a date with a cute little platinum haired little cutie undercover cop. She has .38's and felt sweet in my hand, pointed in the right direction and wasn't all that much. Anyway, she came home with me and a case of ammo. Just in case. I call her my Undercover Angel. (Doesn't that song just ring in your ears? MMM, Undercover Angel, midnite fantasy...) A little stainless Charter Arms Police Undercover model. .38 caliber, six shot. Not much larger than my cell phone. A neat little ankle package. I'll letcha know how she handles tomorrow.
Bless God, God bless.

Paintin' Nasty Pictures...

Since it's the last day of the year, I'm going to try my hand at painting a picture for us. (As you can see, I ain't that good a painter! LOL- 7th grade was the pits!)
I'm going to shift some of the blame on this to Wizard and M.D. Creekmore, since they helped dredge up some thoughts from the twisted paranoia side of my character.
But just think of it: our esteemed Uncle Sugar is going through some convoluted thinking these days. (No doubt spurred on by a lot of science fiction stories, he's getting a bit uppity for his own good.) So if my thinking is convoluted, too, I'll just blame him. (Good thinking, James!)
Wiz's comment last week had a link pertaining to the 'FEMA' camps based around the country. Hypothetically, to help people in times of need such as the Katrina fiasco. Or are they for helping? The camps are built along the lines of WW2 concentration/detention centers. Barbed wire, concertina, guard towers, 'barracks' style buildings, locked entries and hush-hush construction for the most part.
(Of course, Uncle has to realise that as secretive as he tries to be on his home turf, there is someone just as adept- hopefully- at finding things hidden and of inquisitive enough mind to ask questions, then post something somewhere to show others.)
I'd run into a similar site a while back that had a couple more installations listed (wish I'd kept the site link) than Wiz's did, but the point is the same: Uncle is planning something he probably shouldn't be and it does not bode well for Mr. and Mrs. General Public or their off-spring.
Now for some paranoid Q&A...
There is tons and tons of speculation about what's going to happen during the coming year, especially since the Dark Lord has ascended to power. We know people are going to lose jobs, businesses are going to close, people are going to become homeless, hungry and more than pist off. No, I'm not blaming the Dark Lord for this, but I will say he isn't going to help the situation any if he implements the issues he spoke of during his campaign. We're bankrupt enough as a government and population and his lofty plans sure won't help alleviate anything. Perhaps when the Welfare Sheeple awaken there will be riots and worse on the streets of America- perhaps it's about time for them?- and those living in PrepperLand will need their stores.
Of course, we live in different areas, some hidden in the bush, some the desert, some in rural farmland, some hiding in cities hoping to escape when the time comes. The one place many of us live is on the 'Web'.
A related story concerning how Uncle is utilising foreign peoples to monitor web traffic, even some domestic spying to ferret out 'terrorists', has been making the rounds for quite some time. Uncle Sugar is combing websites, message boards, blogs, IMs and E-Mail in his unending quest for... Bible Thumpers, Constitutionalists, Second Amendment Rights supporters, Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) supporters, secessionist advocates, survivalists... need I go on or is the picture coming thru? These kind of people are what Uncle wants to classify as 'terrorist'. And once he designates these people, what does he decide to do with them? In what way are many of these people detrimental to good and proper government, to the tenets of our Constitution?
Which brings us to M.D. Creekmore's place at the table.
M.D. advocates small shelter living- motor home, camper-trailer, pickup camper, etc. And his ideas are sound. Others advocate a stay-in-place shelter, commune, urban retreat or 'lost in the wilds' unknown fortification, and their ideas are sound. It's just that being different kinds of people we attack problems from different perspectives and bank accounts.
Common denominator between all is: Uncle Sugar knows who we are. Whether it be J.W.R. or M.D.C. or me, there is no way for any to hide from the all-seeing Eye in the Sky. I doubt any who Uncle deems 'enemy of the state' is safe anywhere in the world- even if he isn't smart enough to capture Bin Laden, there's no place for us to hide.
Now, combine Uncle's penchant for doing the exact opposite of the right thing and the fact that there are too many who are willing to sacrifice any and all to enhance their power and bank accounts, what do you think is going to happen to these 'rabble rousers' of the internet and elsewhere? (Don't think just 'cuz you don't blog 'he' doesn't know who you are!)
My point after all this rambling is pretty basic: don't count on being in a good, solid (or not so solid) BOL as being protection from much more than the starving horde and Zombie bikers. Uncle is going to be coming for any and all who don't toe his line. Count on it.
I'd love to say that being able to grab a BOB and bug into the wilds will solve the problem, but I can't and it won't. The vast majority who grab a BOB and think they can survive in the bush are deluding themselves. Maybe one in two million can do it. Maybe. If they can survive the hunger and elements, their life will be made more miserable by the hunters- the dogs Uncle puts on their track. There is going to be no escape. Period. (You didn't think those 20,000 troops were brought home to pacify the pacifists, did you? And there are more to come for the same reason.)
Every person who does not fit the definition of 'socially compliant' is going to be incarcerated or dead. Perhaps both. Yes, both, I think. Uncle can't allow a dissenting voice to live.
No matter how you look at it, 2009 is going to be the beginning of a very interesting year.
(Putting on a BIG grin here and taking off the tinfoil cover. How's that for paranoia? LOL- I love letting my imagination get away from me. Sometimes.)
Oh- the picture: painted in 1960 art class. I do a little better now, but it was what got me interested in painting.
Happy New Year, All. God bless, keep your powder dry and your BOB ready.
Bless God, Happy New Year, Everyone!

Gun Control California Style

There are a lot who say "Gun control won't fly." I beg to differ. There are no ends to the ways lib democrats will go to cancel the Second Amendment.
If you doubt this, here's a look at recent California proposed legislation.
On Tuesday, April 8, the Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider legislation that would require gun owners to obtain a “permit-to-purchase” before buying handgun ammunition.
Introduced by State Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), Assembly Bill 2062 puts ammunition sales in the crosshairs. AB2062 would require that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit to buy handgun ammunition and would impose severe restrictions on the private transfers of handgun ammunition. Applicants for a “permit-to-purchase” would be required to submit to a background check, pay a $35 fee, and wait as long as 30 days to receive the permit.
Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice or the number of his handgun ammunition purchase permit. Vendors would be required to contact the purchase permit database, to verify the validity of a permit before completing a sale. All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

My point here being that it isn't the firearms that have to be banned. Since such would cause quite a ruckus, if not a war, the libs in B Hussein O's cabinet will do all they can to insure there is no way for the civilian populace can fight back. They know that without ammunition, guns are expensive and cumbersome paperweights. So all those doubting loss of our Second Amendment better wake up and smell the coffee.
This is not the only technique available to them, either- just use your imagination. (No, I am not going to be like the 'free press' in this country and give the enemy ideas by disseminating my thoughts. They don't need my help, anyway.) Suffice to say, nay-sayers are being a bit narrow-minded if not entirely foolish.
Yes- some astute among you will notice the date(s) and realize this went through early this year. Now imagine the fed doing the same. Bye-bye ammo. So stock up while the stocking's good, regardless the cost.
Or buy several bows and a hundred arrows and learn to use them- which is a lot more painful and time consuming than using a firearm. Not that such would be a bad idea, IMNASHO, since arrows are reusable most of the time, easier to make than bullets and much more silent. Still, in CQB, give me a sidearm or long gun.
Keep your powder dry, Folks, and remember OpSec.
Bless God, God bless,

HOORAH !!!

There are liberals and terrorists all over the world shaking their heads in dismay today due to the Supreme Court ruling in favor of American citizens defending themselves.
If there are two groups of people who are adamantly opposed to free ownership of firearms by "Mary Average" and "John Q. Public" in the United States, it's those who want to be attacked and have all their rights removed, and those who want to attack us gun-toting Americans.
It's about time the average, honest, hard working American was given a fair deal by the (normally) liberal Supreme Court. It happened today with the ruling that the Washington D.C. anti-self defense law concerning firearms, was unConstitutional. Now citizens of Washington D.C. can breathe a sigh of fresh air in knowing they have full right to protect themselves, their loved ones, their homes and neighbors. And do so legally.
Today, I am more proud than ever to be an American, contrary to how some people feel about being American. And more determined than ever to do what needs doing to insure Constitutional Freedom remains in the hands of Americans.
As relieved as I am about this ruling, I see problems arising within a few weeks and lasting about as long. There will be repercussions, of course- there always are.
Not only will the liberal anti-gun crowd and George Soros go ballistic faster than a 70 grain .270,
so will the press in it's "critical need" to eliminate firearms from American hands. Also, there will be some "random acts of violence" perpetrated upon decent citizens who are now "carrying". Some of these will result in ER calls, others in trips to mortuaries (hopefully more mortuary than ER for the criminals). Once the criminal element learns that people just aren't going to stand idly by for their bullshit any longer, things will level out, even drop in less than a year. Which should give the honest people enough time to eliminate most of the bad guys.
And to hell with "political correct", too. Call it like you see it and libs be damned. Now it's time to go back to the Supreme Court and get some of their 'rulings' straightened out, such as allowing terrorists access to civilian courts and Constitutional rights from the very country they attacked. Since when is it the Supreme Court's job to create laws or tell the government how to operate? Or did someone eliminate the House and Senate (not that most of their occupants shouldn't be eliminated) while I was on vacation last week? What part of the Constitution they swore to uphold gives them leave to tell the President what he has to do? (By the way, what part of the Constitution gives Congress authority to vote itself raises while still in office? ) And it's time some of the liberal environmentalist faction and lobbyists are brought to trial as well as other special interest minority groups. The Supreme Court has to wake itself up and understand that this country is not governed by minority, but majority rule and reverse some of its past "accomplishments".
It's time the U.S. Supreme Court decided to put God back in "In God we trust", not Mecca or Islam.
Thank God some in America are still awake and not lost in the daydream that liberals have a better idea.

Self Defense

Following is an Email from a friend of mine- which I haven't checked the veracity of, but it has the ring of truth to it. Included after are some of my thoughts on the subject.
"...Shooting in Butte, Montana
Shotgun-wielding pre-teen vs. illegal alien home invaders; Butte, Montana November 5, 2006.
Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks had never learned two things: They were in Montana, and Patricia has been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point-blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was discovered later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.
Thought for the day: Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'. "
I think Patricia deserves a Medal of Honor. The NRA journals publish a column named "The Armed Citizen" and this could well appear in it if not already. Almost daily we hear of instances where a loaded firearm in the hands of a competent shooter saves either their life or that of someone else.
Nationally, only someone living in an Afghani cave has not heard of the shootings in Colorado this month, where-in a 24 year old man (name withheld to prevent ANY recognition or claim of fame) killed 26 year old Tiffany Johnson and 23 year old Philip Crouse and wounded two others at a Youth With A Mission education center then went on an hour later and attacked a church 60 miles away. There he was stopped by a former policewoman on volunteer duty as a monitor. Three well-aimed shots brought the murderer down. This former police woman also deserves a Medal of Honor.
Here is a story worthy of more than three night's news coverage by mainstream media. Instead, libs and gun-control advocates will spend millions of dollars touting legislation where honest, law-abiding citizens should be removed of their right to carry and, if needed, use a firearm. And the media will gleefully push this noise for weeks on end.
This would not have occurred if liberals and democrats had their way.
Rather than being stopped, the killer could well have done much more harm to more people, to making more families childless, fatherless, motherless. Of course, no lib or democrat wants to be repeatedly told such facts, being blind to truth is a common heritage to them.
More buildings, churches and schools included, need to remove the signs from their doors- as did the Mall recently invaded by another crumb. Oh, yes- they removed the signs AFTER the attacks and- what was it?- 18 people were killed and wounded? At least the church was smart enough to have armed security patrolling the building. If the Mall had allowed legally carried weapons inside, more than likely fewer people would be attending funerals.
It causes me to feel bad to be using these random acts of violence for a BLOG to promote a Constitutionally given right, but like the news media and libs and democrats, I feel compelled to defend what is mine. That includes the right to own, carry and use firearms. Not just for sport shooting as I do, but hunting and protection as well. And, yes, protecting others less inclined to defend themselves. Even libs and democrats.
'Nuff said.
