Of course, many of us visit particular blogs, often having favorites. Catman's Litterbox is one of my fave's. His timely topics and seeming ease of discovering items of interest to me often caused me to wonder how or where he found the item. Of course, he's a geek of sorts.
So when he hadn't posted for quite a while, yesterday I left a comment on his last post. Here is what was returned. Color me concerned.

Does anyone have any information about him? Did he dump his Catbox? Is he on TDY in some undiscovered place on the planet?

Candle Liting

So Lovely Lady has been ragging on me to get my buns busy here. (And we all know, if Momma ain't happy... blah blah...) So, as a form of self defense, we're back on the road to illiterary ignominy. Or something like that.
Now, for something a bit more serious-
Everyone knows who the Brady Bunch is- no, not that Partridge family twin. Those Criminals Stealing Gun Rights groupies. Anyway, they're lighting a candle this Sunday, 8 January 12, to protest gun violence. And right they should, we all should. Every person should denounce gun violence, even those who're committing it. Especially them: each and every one should walk away carried by pall bearers. Weerd Beard ( http://www.weerdworld.com/2012/your-first-reminder ) has come up with his version of the candle lighting and is encouraging all gun owners to light a candle against gun violence. Since I am one of those terrorist guys who believes in God and the Bible and the Constitution, am a vet, an NRA member, drive a gas guzzling four wheel drive truck and tell tree huggers- especially AlGorey- to lick my ... wait, this' family oriented... and sure don't like the politics- or the politicians in- coming out of D.C. these days, I decided to post a picture or my DCP (that's 'Daily Carry Piece' for the uninitiated to my unorthodox- we can't call it English since I'm an American-lingo).
Without further much ado- here she is. Simple, old, and sure not elegant but she's steady and strong and American made- my Lady, Smith and Wesson model 469 carried in her Kirkpatrick Leather holster and packing 13 rounds of Glaser Pow'RBall Plus P in the grip and another 13 in the spare.

...and the rain falls...

The 'Kids' and I left early this morning for our daily walk. Heavy overcast, rain sporadic earlier, threatening to burst heavy at any minute. Not cold, but not a warm day, either. Neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. A good first day of summer for walking and thinking.

Summer is the growth time, the time of freshening the spirit for the coming cold months. Deeply cold months.

Even in the rain, it's time for growth and introspection.

Footsteps pounding the ground, swishing through the knee high grass, soaking the lower legs and feet as I follow the hounds bounding gaily ahead, noses to the ground one moment, in the air the next. A blade of grass here, chewed and swallowed or coughed back out. Scattering like partridge at a sound or sight of something invisible to me and they chase each other in and out the underbrush, through muddy swamp patches, to emerge black with smelly muck on their lithe white bodies. Droplets of mud and water swirl about them as they shake themselves free a moment before flitting again into the undergrowth, losing themselves to my sight in the dark woods.

All around me is northern forest- pines, some islands of poplar and here and there a bright white birch. Not silent at all. Even on such a day there are robins singing their trill song, a squirrel chattering, mosquitoes buzzing about me, deer flies attempting quick snacks of my flesh, droplets of water falling from the trees above and around me, from the sky above, the joyous barks of the pups, playful growling.

It isn't perfect. But it's close. Quiet, for all intents and purposes. Peaceful, despite those out of sight lives being snatched by carnivores to make their daily meal. No animosity or angst or fear or despair.

Just life and living it.

Just like the dogs ahead of me- my 'Kids'. Not concerned with what was going on in the world about them, just what they were doing, enjoying, loving, bounding among.

And as the rains fall harder, we get soaked to the skin, chilled by the rivulets finding their way behind the collar, down between shoulder blades and tickling my waist.

We're still a mile from the house and the decision comes to me because I know it's the right one, that it's led by the Spirit and what He desires of me for the moment.

My life has been filled with anger and cynicism of late, sometimes hate and hateful, disparaging.

Anger at my government, at people around me, at people I don't know. At myself.

Cynicism is part of my make-up, my nature. I don't believe everything. Usually don't believe anything but what I have felt, tasted, seen, with my own senses. What I've seen in myself isn't warming and I know it's time to extinguish some fires and light others.

It' time to spend more time where I belong, seeking and relearning, growing once again close to what really matters to me, to communing with the One Who Is I Am, and refreshing the Spirit within me.

Summer... sometimes wet. Sometimes warm. Sometimes dry. Sometimes cold. Always time to get out...

Time to get beyond the walls and back into the trees, the lakes and rivers... time to feel the movement of the kayak beneath me, to feel the pull of the blade moving me ahead... to smell the campfire and the coffee cooking beside the platter of fresh caught fish... to let the smoke sting my eyes and wipe away the tear that is not from pain or suffering or despair... time to feel a belly hunger from exertion and work rather than a time-piece... time to once again feel the jolt of surprise and exhilaration atop a roller coaster wave or the close contact of a bear sniffing my toes... time to feel the joy of sleep come upon the breast of the earth beneath my body. Time to once again spend a day reading only one Word, singing one hymn, having one thought, hearing only one Voice. Time to enjoy it again while I have yet this one summer remaining. Who knows how many more will be available? Who knows what fate will befall this great country before this summer is past?

Let's all take one more deep breath of freedom while we still can.

I'll see you after freeze up. After the Season of Refreshing.

According to the Mail article, Government Motors has been putting these in cars for quite a few years- if yours has an airbag, it may have a black box- and of course, there's OnStar. How convenient for us to be able to call 9-1-1 without moving a muscle after an accident.
Isn't it convenient for the Gestapo that so many 'Americans' willingly accept convenience in their lives?
But, for sake of convenience, lemme carry this thought a bit...
I'm sitting in my living room, or bedroom, or at a cafe having coffee with my Honey, look out the window and see some mall ninjas messing with my vehicle and I confront them. One decides he's going to be more belligerent than I. And I shoot both their asses to death.
"Honest, Judge- my client has right to protect his body and property from vandals."
I rest my case.
Funny thing about this article: it's from the Mail OnLine, from the U.K. I haven;t seen anything of this on any of the American rags I read on line (I don't read paper rags- too spendy just to read lies).

No Shots Fired...

As Wright came downstairs in his boxer shorts, he said the officers barged through his front door. Wright said an officer grabbed him by the neck and led him outside on his front lawn.

According to Wright, officers also woke his three young children, ages 3, 7, and 11, and put them in a Stockton police patrol car with him. Officers then searched his house.

Patriots Killed Today

How many Patriots are killed daily in America- and all we do is accept it?
There is only one issue in America today, and throughout the world.
Life.
Period.
Life is the only absolute issue worth fighting about, all that is worth defending.

But whose life are we talking about? Is it just our own life, and that of those in our small groups? Are we defending only the lives of those close to us? Are we including defending the rights and lives and freedoms of those in far-away lands, such as what our troops are doing now?

While here in America, we love to throw in our 'personal freedoms' and our 'rights' as Americans to do as we please, to not be controlled by nannydotgov. We talk about freedom for ourselves and our posterity, yet we condone sacrificing our unborn on the Devil's altar.
And we come up with all kinds of reasons to 'legalize' murdering our unborn children- everything from 'I can't afford a baby' or 'it will destroy my lovely body' or "I was raped" or "it was incest" or 'it isn't a 'viable' human being'.
To all of which I say bullshit.
There's a real 'debate' going on at Arctic Patriot's right now about what constitutes a human being. A real eye-opener, especially in light of the 'patriot' movement.
Are you all for fighting for your freedoms, yet unwilling to fight for the freedom of those yet unborn? Are you talking about how you'll stop the attack across your threshold, yet condone killing a voice that has yet to be heard?

Is that patriotism? Is that being an American? Is that what American values are?

When the abortion issue first came about, a brother in law commented to me that, "Without life, there are no issues." I've pretty much adopted that as my own, for without life, there is no issue.

My son was born as the result of a 'one night stand' and because of my beliefs, despite what his mother wanted. I have never regretted that decision and never will. He truly is the apple of my eye.

If you've voted democrat, you are a murderer. Period. End of statement. There is no justification for voting to kill someone without justification, regardless of lifespan or making it a party platform.

If you are pro-choice, you are a murderer. Period. End of statement. There is no justification to agreeing to kill someone who is defenseless and has committed no crime deserving of death.

If you are a patriot, you are for life- all life. You don't take life needlessly. Life is sacred to you, you value and honor it- why else would you want to be free?

For those who think abortion is good for society... that abortion is something we should condone... one question...

What do you say to your children when they reach the point in your life and tell you, "We have to let you go, the doctors know what's best, and we really can't afford to keep you any more."

Indiana FAIL

Can't say it loud or fast enough: FAIL!
I can see two immediate results to this decision. There are going to be some cops playing soldier getting their asses shot and a few citizens doing the shooting. Then the court cases begin and civilians lose them, and more, of their rights.
Do Indiana's Supreme Court actually believe they're going to get away with this? I mean, really: come on! This is still the United States of America and the Constitution is still the law of the land. Just because some dipshit beagles consider the Fourth Amendment "incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence" does not negate a citizen's rights. (Perhaps they should read a bit of history and discover why they happen to have their jobs.)
If Indiana residents don't rise up and beat their judicial system over the head... they deserve to lose every Constitutional right there is.

Redeeming the Time

Being a nation of shooters, America has a long standing tradition called 'competition'.

Way back when-ago, as Ye Old Furt pointed out a while back, there was a competition called a 'blanket shoot', wherein each shooter recieved his choice of award from those piled atop a blanket.

More recently, there are the in-house/shooting gallery events, usually around 50 feet, or less in some instances. Also are the outdoor events such as CMP and Appleseed programs (though Appleseed isn't technically a competition), and other sports as Steel Plates, IDPA, and the fun steel chicken challenges.

Since the Pony Express died off, replaced by the railroad, which was displaced by the airplane and par Avion, there's a competition known as 'postal matches'.

Now we have a new kind of competition that sounds like fun and challenging. (Not to mention, an opportunity to get to better know our on-line friends.)

ASM of Random Acts of Patriotism and Borepatch have come up with the newest fangled idea: Digital Matches.

The idea: download a specified target (link found at ASM's) and follow the directions (yet to be specified by Borepatch), and Email your results to either gent (yet to be determined). The challenge: to get out, have fun shooting, see how well you can best your past performance each shoot, and have fun as a group.

I've already claimed the position I get to shoot, so no one else can have it. I get to shoot prone, off a bipod with scope. Everyone else has to shoot off hand, standing on their head, one handed, sighting with their weak eye.

Now, go read, download, shoot, and have fun.

UPDATE: The time-line is May 31 to have targets sent to ASM or posted on your blog with link-back to ASM. Distance, 25 yards, off-hand (standing), no slings, sights of your choice- let ASM know which/what kind.

Ho-Hum... now they're claiming to've killed Osama Bin Laden. I was wondering why my world was so changed when I awoke this morning. So wonderful to have awakened and seen green grass and hear the birds singing and know the entire world was at peace at last, never to hear the sound of gunfire or talk of war ever again. And the lion and lamb were sitting in the breakfast nook having coffee and chatting about how they were going to picnic later at the viper den and play some checkers with the wolves.

Like I believe any of the above.

Really, I do. All of it.

I was here, I should know.

OK- how do I really feel about this 'big' news today? I caught the news right away last night when the MSM blew in the door and started bragging up the Dark Lord's wonderful signing of the hall pass for the SpecOps to make the hit. My first reaction was, "He's screwing with us. This didn't happen."

I still don't think it happened. Something doesn't ring true about this, but damned if I know what it is. Where is the Corpus Delecti? (I think that's the term.) They buried him at sea? I can see the SpecOps finding good humor in this, but not really swallowing it.

More likely, I think it's a media event being used to encourage a serious attack somewhere in the world, most likely here in the U.S., so the Dark Lord can initiate martial law upon us.

That's what I'm thinking about it.

Really worth your time doing, this will work all your major muscle groups, make you think you're going to die- if you give it total attention and dedicated drive. About the only thing I'd do differently is shooting from around the door jamb rather than teach myself to stand in the middle of the door while shooting. Notice, also, the first shooter does a reload standing in the open- big no-no. Don't train yourself to do things you don't want in your memory banks.
Try this- don't wait. We may well be needing these skills more soon than we think.

As previously noted, I used to wear a tinfoil hat, not wanting to believe how bad my country's government has become. Two years ago I'd probably have sluffed this off like a deuce when playing 500.

Now, there's little I don't put past this puppet government or the master pulling the strings. After all, if I am to be true to my philosophical Christian beliefs, I have to believe what God says is true and will come to pass. This does fall into line with His Word in so many ways, IMNSHO at least.

Since the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, all the MSM can talk about is the radiation and how badly the environment is damaged and how much more badly we're going to make the world if we continue useing nuclear energy to generate power.

Of course, we know what the MSM and tree huggers are thinking- all that matters is their bullshit, not people. When it comes to food, their suggestion is reduce the world population- especially the United States'. When there is a percieved extinction of some poor little snail, their objective is to eliminate jobs or halt food production, never considering that animals have been going extinct since creation and most likely always will be. At least 'til after the Second Coming.

But I digress- I know: you're used to that. Anyway...

The only true gold in the world is that found in the hearts of men. OK: people.

It's found in hearts when floods ravage American communities and we go there to help or send our hard earned and short supply of money, sometimes even to the detriment of our own needs.

It's found in hearts when an island is swamped by tsunami and myriad inhabitants are living in tents, or less, and we go to deliver water or medicine or even something so simple as spiritual aid.

And when an earthquake and following tsunami eradicated much of the island of Japan, we sent our prayers and money and military to aide. Yet all the MSM wants to do is tell us how proud the green weenies are at seeing how the relief centers recycle their water bottles.

They don't have the decency to talk about the people. The hearts and minds and the gold in those people.

When my Honey got me to start this blog, I really wondered why I should, and what would be the result? Really, I didn't think I had anything to say that would interest anyone and sure as hell didn't think I'd be posting as much as I have- and for sure I never thought anyone would read my scribbling. So, I want to thank you readers- you've warmed my heart. (And sometimes made it skip a beat!)
But tonight isn't about me- it's about all of us. Every person who writes a blog, and especially about those who are up-to-date and aware of the stunts being pulled by dotgov against the people of our great nation.
TLDavis writes in a few places, many of you are aware of him and his stance against the incivilities being perpetrated upon Americans today, especially those who support and defend the Constitution.
Today, or recently, he has come under notice of our esteemed dotfed and they've put him under attack. By none other than the IRS. Why? He's unsure of the real reason- the agent (Michael Sandoval, Northern Colorado Bureau) has used a resolved past issue as his reason for investigation. Of course, 'resolved' is a non-issue with the dotgov since they make the rules these days and do whatever the hell they want.
And the point of this is: if they can do this to one of us, they can do it to any or all of us. And don't for a second doubt they won't be coming for more of us. Count on it. The 'war' is just beginning, in the stage where parties involved are just being belligerent toward each other. It won't be long before the shooting starts.

Riddle me this...

... there aren't a tremendous number of people within my 'social circle'. Still, the majority- probably due to the area in which I live- are pretty liberal in their thinking.

By liberal, I mean they vote democrat and belong to and vociferously support unions- and obviously vote the way their union tells them.

So right away, I'm at a disadvantage in most conversations and need apply some really 'off the cuff logic' when talking with them ('talking' usually meaning I'm out-numbered and out-shouted on nearly every topic).

Getting to the riddle me part...

A recent discussion about the rioting going on in Egypt and our American part in it, brought up the topic of oil and how, if the Suez is closed or shut off from transporting oil, then we're going to be suffering some serious price increases in gas prices- of course, everyone was whining about gas already being $3.20 a gallon and hurting their budget. One suggested an answer to the problem would be to send American troops in to protect the area.

Curious about this response, I asked the person what was the difference in our troops fighting for oil in Egypt as opposed to his view of why we fought in Vietnam- which, according to this Conscientious Objector person, was that we shouldn't have been in 'Nam because it was just a war over oil and big business.

Needless to say, his response was to change the subject.

Pushing the issue, I had to ask him to riddle me this: "Why is it the people complaining most about our fighting wars to maintain our oil supply are the ones complaining most about the rising cost of their oil products?"

Now, let me carry this question a bit farther into our daily lives.

"Why is it the ones complaining most about the high cost of food are the environmentalists on the front lines of halting the use of insecticides, fertilizers, and oil-powered machinery, in the production of food?"

Further: "Why is it the unions sympathize with tree huggers to prevent logging and oil production- and thereby employment to Americans- in 'wilderness areas'?"

And, of course, there's the great debate today: "Why is it the tree hugging Goreball Warming weenies who're bitching and pissing most about how cold and snowy it is this year?"

Got to stop now- there's no defending idiots and banging their heads together will only give you a headache.

Cold...

LOL, got to chuckle about this Goreball warming- though this hasn't been the coldest winter in MN history, it's in the top 50. Still, when you think about it- cold like this...

... is really only relative- especially when you have a warm relative to cuddle with.

Really- just think how much warmer it'll feel in July when the humidity is in the 90 percentile and air temp will be 90 as well. Dad always used to say, "I can always put enough clothing on to be warm, never could take enough off to be cool." I go with that sentiment- though if I could have my druthers, I'druther go nekky all the time. (But I'd have to say the neighbors may get a little disjointed if I did.) Not that they can see me through the trees, but one may decide to stop by and have some coffee.

Speaking of which- coffee and a good book- or some good blogs- to read is a fine way to trash a really cold day. So saying, let me thank all you bloggers who do such a wonderful job keeping me entertained these cold winter days. It's appreciated.

I'm surprised by the weather report tonight- single digits in northern Mexico- that should keep a few illegals from crossing the border, at least. Or freeze their carcasses before they get here, which is just as good as not coming.

Now if I can just get Mayberry to appreciate a good, cold day. (wink wink)

I guess that means at least two things: California must have enough ammo already so there's no need to make changes there, and, of course, California's on its own now. Well, was nice knowing you as an American state, California. Hope you enjoy your future as a satellite of Mexico.

EoIpso: if passed into law, this will allow our illustrious Uncle Dark Lord to declare our backyard gardens to be producing "food that is unsafe to eat unless inspected by Uncle Darkie's HHS inspection teams".
How do we know this?
Well, other than being paranoid- which is currently just another word for "knowing"- of anything our Uncle Fed decides to do is definitely detrimental to anyone with half a brain, we have the people in charge telling us exactly what they expect to do. Re: the following Email I received from Kathleen Sebelius after writing her about my dislike and concerns about S510...

A tree hugging Dimocrap, anti-hunting woman from Los Angeles bought a piece of timberland near Colville, Washington.
While admiring her purchase, she discovered a wondrously tall Douglas Fir growing on the exact center of the highest point of her land. Wanting to see the total splendor of her purchase, she decided to climb the tree.
As she neared the uppermost branches, she was attacked by a Spotted Owl and, while attempting to defend herself against the attack, lost her grip on the branch she was holding, lost her balance and slid down the entire length of the tree. Needless to say, she broke many branches on her trip to the ground, gathering many painful splinters in her crotch area.
In extreme pain and unable to remove the splinters herself, she hurried to Mt. Carmel ER to see a doctor.
Informing the doctor she was as devout Dimocrap environmentalist, anti hunter, and how she'd managed to get so many splinters in her... ahem... area. Patiently listening to her story, the doctor told her to wait in the exam room and he'd be in soon as he could.
She sat three hours before the doctor reappeared.
Angry, she demanded, "What took you so long?"
Patiently smiling, the doctor told her, "I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a recreational area."
Setting himself comfortably in front of her, he took her hand and frowned.
"I'm sorry," he consoled her. "They turned me down."

Which just goes to show there's hope for the country yet.
But rest assured, if we allow the Cons in D.C. to pass any kind of internet restrictions, this kind of humor will not be allowed.

'Tis the Season

Being a dog person, I am very aware of how people interact with their pups, more-so than I am with how people interact with each other. I've seen people totally against owning dogs become infatuated with animals received as pets. I've also seen the cruelty some have for animals, regarding them only as objects to serve their inflated egos with glitz and glamor they can't achieve without the animal, or to fatten wallets in the breeding grounds or warfare pits.
Of course, there are 'working' dogs- military, police, sled dog, etc- and there are 'pets'. Sometimes the line is crossed and a working dog is a pet as well- a service dog leading a blind owner through the pits of hell with unending love. And the true pets, those 'sleep in the bed' and 'come play with me' canines who live only to love us.
And the people who own them display their own character in how well they interact with their dog. People who spend time with their pets often teach them to do some wonderful games, to play with them in ways no one else can. (Imagine teaching your child or best friend to race madly hundreds of feet, or yards, and leap joyously feet into the air to catch a Frisbee...)
Imagine teaching your friends to merrily dance to polka music wearing a tu-tu... in the street where hundreds of on lookers will OOOooo and AWWWwww gaining moments of happiness at your friend's antics.
Imagine waving good-bye to your friends for the evening as you go to the movie... to dinner... to church... and leaving your friends to their own devices.

What with all the crap that's going on with Uncle Nanny in his efforts to make us all remember that the State Is Our Enemy, it's sometimes difficult to find something to laugh about.
Seriously- there's nothing funny about the new Agriculture law passed today- despite numerous calls to not pass the damn thing. (Once again the dimwits in CONgress remind us how little they care for the desires of their employers.)
And with the MSM taking every opportunity to insert the Dark Lord's face in front of our eyes, there's little chance to miss seeing his pig-eared mug. It's got to the point where I've turned off the usual radio programs because even they insist on blasting our ears and common sense by playing sound bites from this piranha. He has absolutely nothing to say I need to hear- I can lie to myself much more believably.
Not that anyone really expected different of them, but the newly elected have shown how right we all were in not trusting a word they said, especially where our country is concerned.
Honestly, it's even getting difficult to blog due to frustrations caused by the state of our Union. (Well, it WAS a Union once! Now it's a bunch of separate communist states presided over by the proletariat in D.C.)
OK, enough doom an' gloom rambling- I'll get to the point.

Making Decisions

With all that's been going on in this country these days, I've been having to revamp my thinking concerning how I view a SHTF situation and what I'm seeing ain't pretty.

One of the changes I've made due to revisiting the roots of my thinking is what I need more of in the way of preps. The basics and more basics: beans, band aids and bullets. (I neither have the kind of money needed to stock gold and silver, nor do I see them being of much value to the 'common man'.) In addition to enlarging my stock of ammo for my conventional weapons, I've added another weapon. Not much in cost, $223 for the rifle, another $60 in accoutrement's and quite a few hundred more for ammo to feed it. Tons of ammo. (Note the AMMO link to your left.)

OK, maybe not tons more, but more than I can load in the truck in ten minutes without a dolly of some sort.

Not to make any kind of prophecy, but I'm thinking a truckload may not be enough, even in my neck of the woods.

Hopefully, I'm wrong in what I believe is going to happen- I'd love to be, would rather this country can get back on an Constitutional footing without resorting to violence of any kind outside the ballot box. But I don't see it happening despite the new faces bewilderingly wandering the halls of CONgress.

Of course, there's no need to restate what has been so thoroughly covered in other blogs and the news sources, even those we know we can't trust. But I have to wonder, which of these, if not all, are False Flag Events, being used to create a deeper fear in the Sheeple and encourage a mis-step by Patriots?

We all understand how the fed would love a genuine Patriot group to open the dance so they can claim the moral high ground and initiate martial law, or worse. Too, we're all probably getting anxious for the ball to open so we can get this country back on an even keel (trying to not mix metaphors and compliment Mayberry ;) ), but I encourage you to sit back and wait. It won't be long before the Dark Lord and his minions get antsy and do what we need to claim the high ground.

A message from my Honey...

My Honey's intense Patriotism has always impressed me, as does her adoration of active duty and veteran military. When shopping, if she sees a uniform, she's right there, thanking them for their service and telling them how much she really appreciates what they do for her and the country. At the local VFW, she's right in the mix talking with the guys and they love it. When the Navy plays, she's on the bench beside them, cheering them on, crying when they lose. She cries when the National Anthem is played, rejoices in the roar of the jets overhead, weeps at the flag draped caskets she sees.

Well, enough from me- she asked if I'd post this for her...

"... I am sure there has never been a veteran who has not sacrificed in his life to serve us. I am certain there is not a soldier who has ventured into war who was not wounded mentally or physically. And I am certain that we have all at times taken our many freedoms for granted, assuming they have always been here or that they can never disappear. Top Ten List...

One thing people can always do is come up with a reason to procrastinate or just simply put things off for another rainy day.

Like me: I can always think of nothing better to do than go fishing on a nice summer day. Or wander through the bushes on a crisp autumn morning, shotgun in hand, the Lady's mutt sniffing up a bird- and if he ever finds one, I'll be more than happy. Usually I have to flush them, shoot them, then drag through the brush half an hour to find them.

Or putting up Christmas decorations. There's always something better to do than run up the electric bill, so the decorations get postponed till the season's past. Then maybe I'll hang a few bulbs off the porch rail. (I don't celebrate Satanic holidays, so the Dark Lord's favorite day gets by-passed, although I have thought of hanging an effigy in the maple tree out front and using it as a target...) Does anyone hang a turkey on a tree limb or front porch for Thanksgiving? I've never heard of someone doing that with their cornucopia setting, but maybe someday I'll try it- if I feel like staying awake all night shooting the neighborhood casts and dogs that come sniffing by.

But I digress- as you know I always do.

We're talking about procrastinating, or just plain simply looking for excuses to do things. Or to not do them- take your pick.

Such as many will do this coming Tuesday, November Second. Many will spend more energy and time getting out of voting than it'd cost them to just go do it. If you know anyone like this, show them this list and ask if their reason is listed. If not, put it on...

10) I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

Here's an abvious drunk doing the most stupid thing he could possibly think of- and paid the ultimate price. There's a reason shooters hand each generation such adages as, "Guns and booze don't mix."
Personally, I'm more than happy that officer Ross Jessop was uninjured, declared justified in this event that has probably seriously changed more than just his and the perp's lives. Though this happened in April, the message is as relevant now and maybe more so in the future.

Shooting Groups/Types

Conversation at the range today turned toward the different kinds of shooters we have in the club and their skill levels. Whether cowboy enthusiasts, black powder, IDPA/steel competitors or "Sunday shooters", the consensus was along the following lines...

Four basic groups/kinds of shooters:

1) Beginner: from absolute novice gun owner to one who has actually fired a box of ammo through his weapon. Broken into sub-groups such as:

A) Absolute beginner who simply bought a gun and box of ammo for protection, put it in a drawer unfired. This person has read the instruction manual but will probably have no idea where it was put or even if it’s still in the house. The standard of accuracy is what has been seen in movies- point and shoot (usually defined as “spray and pray” by advanced and professional shooters).

B) Beginner, one who has actually fired a box of bullets within a week of purchasing the firearm before relegating it to the bedside drawer. Has read the manual, twice- because something didn’t work at practice and an answer needed to be found. May still possess the manual.

C) Advanced Beginner, who has occasionally taken the weapon out for firing once or twice a year, then rendered it to the drawer without cleaning or any maintenance. Still knows where the manual is, has read it before each firing/range session to insure remembering.

D) Beginning Amateur, who is developing an interest in more than just an occasional plinking session, has learned a minimum of basic shooting accuracy and wants to do better.

2) Amateur: one who has purchased a weapon, has developed a little interest in shooting more than just several times a year. Broken into sub-groups as:

A) Beginning Amateur, who has friends with whom they shoot informally three or four times a year, several times alone when the whim overtakes them. Is concerned with accuracy, but only peripherally.

B) Amateur, whose interest has developed enough to insure at least monthly sessions, probably on a square range and standing Weaver or other two handed shooting style. Actually looks forward to the sessions, often wonders why they aren’t shooting more. (Cost of ammunition is the usual reason expressed. Time is another.) Occasionally reads a gun article, usually in the MSM papers.

C) Advanced Amateur, who gets to the range weekly, looks forward to it, often with friends, but often alone- and is developing new friends at the range. This shooter is concerned enough about accuracy to ask questions, seek advice and training, usually from people they meet at the range and whose shooting they admire. Is probably a member of the NRA or GOA, reads quite a bit about the sport.

D) Beginning Advanced shooter- those who take shooting seriously as a major pastime, attend shooting sessions several times a week, may consider taking an advanced class taught by a professional gun-fighter, such as a Suarez International or On-Point Tactical class, naming only two of many. His standard of accuracy is sporadic but improving. Is developing a feel for his trigger and recovery after each shot. Reads/studies about the sport and tactical aspects of firearms, seriously concerned with gun rights and self defense.

3) Beginning Advanced Shooter, who is beginning competition, shooting locally and has a lot of enjoyable times with people of like mind. Is learning advanced skills, shoots from movement, perhaps even at moving targets and sometimes those while moving themselves. Has taken an advanced class from a reputable school and is very concerned with accuracy, strives for it whenever shooting. Has good breathing and trigger control and recovery after each shot. Sub groups include:

A) Beginning advanced, who is beginning to take shooting seriously, probably has more than one firearm and learning to use all equally, though primarily focused on one. Has minimal stressful situations, but is improving in skill sets and accuracy under speed. (Often “kills the hostage”.)

B) Advanced, who shoots as often as possible, probably owns reloading equipment and does reload some, but not all, of their ammunition. Well versed in the use of all their weapons, very serious about self defense and gun issues, encourages others in the sport and is considered by others a pretty good shot and all-around shooter. Is developing skill in weapons use under stressful conditions, most often the clock in competition. (Seldom “kills the hostage”.)

C) Beginning Professional shooter. One who is or is considering a career that includes firearms of some sort. Either civilian, military or law enforcement, where they perceive firearms to be a major aspect of the career and take both seriously. Has attended more than one firearms/weapons training school and is looking forward to more. Knows more than one style of weapon, not necessarily owning all of them, but familiar enough to use the different systems adequately. Faces stress filled situations often in competition, enjoys the situation and is well-rounded in solving difficult shooting situations. (Never “kills the hostage”.)

4) Professional shooter, who is either military or law enforcement, broken into sub-divisions of:

A) Beginner, one who is interested enough in shooting skills adequate to their role in the wheel. (This shooter is more concerned with passing the fundamental shooting skills course to maintain rating and job than being a “better shot”.)

B) Advanced Professional, who is considered above his peer group in skill sets, accuracy and desire to advance.

C) Professional’s Professional, who are the crème-de-la-crème of their class. The SPecOps soldier, the SWAT law enforcement officer, the recognized tactical and shooting school instructors. These people are familiar with all manner of weapons, not just those originating in their home country, and can use them equally well under adverse conditions and under high stress situations. (Never “kill the hostage”, often called upon to rescue the hostage in real life scenarios.)

Who we are and where we fall in these categories is just the point we are currently at and can advance to a higher level by focused practice. Some shooters will fall into more than one category- such as an advanced shooter whose skill level compares favorably with SpecOps types, though the shooter is not interested in being a “professional” shooter. Also, an advanced shooter can lose ground skills-wise through neglect and cessation of shooting. The skills will return rather quickly, however, once shooting resumes.

As noted, not all LEO are “professional shooters”, though their job status would indicate they should be. At least, better than the “average John and Jane Q”, though often is not the case. (We have to remember that some LEO are there strictly for the paycheck- being “good” at their job skills is secondary to the income, and they’ll “be damned if they’re going to spend their money on training.”) Some of the blame for this attitude should be relegated to the respective department, perhaps even city or state councils, that do not require more of their employees.

It is my opinion that those whose intent is self-defense and/or militia status should strive to be the best they can be. This precludes just being an occasional/beginner shooter, but some serious trigger time doing some serious tactical training. The training need not be from a professional school to benefit the shooter as long as practiced with the five “P’s”: Perfect Practice Prevents (Piss) Poor Performance. Practice what you know, seek knowledge from those you know, know, and practice what they know. A skill learned today will be easier to recover when needed, although perhaps not as skillfully used if practice hadn’t been curtailed in the first place. Like all our muscles, shooting muscles need exercise to improve- don’t neglect them!

"We Old Furts" cannot be categorized through a logical sequence due to a logical sequence of events: We have what is commonly referred to as "experience" and "BTDT". Each of us is aware- or should be- of how hard the Dark Lord and his crew of criminals is trying to shut down the First Amendment.
Not only the freedom of religion aspect, or to abridge the freedom of speech or our right to peaceful assembly (protesting) our grievances, but also control of the press. In their efforts to deny our First Amendment rights, they also want to control the airwaves- insuring that all us bloggers are politically correct, toeing the fed line.
Mike Vanderboegh at Sipsey Street Irregulars is a Freedom touting blogger who caught more than a lion's share of vehement mail, threats and personal attacks this spring when he, among others, encouraged a Second Amendment march in D.C. early this spring. The fed would dearly love to shut him down. The Southern Poverty Law Center- whose members are anti-Semitic, racist gun grabbing liars and thieves- has charged Mike with being a terrorist who should be arrested.
MMPaints at Self Sustained LivingMMPaints has also received her share of criticism and been accused of being a terrorist blogsite. All because she touts a freedom oriented lifestyle, living close to the earth, free of the enslaving chains of government dependence.
Western Rifle Shooters Association is always taking heat for its promotion of defending the Constitution, even if at the end of a bayonet.
Mayberry even catches his share of hell from the lib-tards for his Freedom inspired rants.
The list goes on and on. So many bloggers who are making a difference in our lives- either by helping keep us free or by enslaving us more with their support of the communist usurper regime now in the White House.
Now we have more action being begun by blogger Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs who is going to be the target of Muslim extremists, and quite probably the fed itself.
All because she's taking a stand for America and its defense.

Yet support it our government does. Without our consent. A terrorist organization being supported by another terrorist organization.
Were it not for the bloggers, we'd have no honest news reporting of what's happening in our country. MSM talking heads would rather we were more informed of who's judging American Idol than who should be the Real American Idol (Patriots, if I have to tell you- LOL).
So, Bloggers: Please do all you can to defend our rights as Americans. Write your CONs and let them know you'll not stand for any legislation curtailing your right of free speech- even if it isn't politically correct. Curiously Silent...

Thinking about the past couple of years today was enlightening in that what is- and is not- happening these days has confirmed so much about peoples' beliefs.

Mostly, I'm talking about all those 'nay-sayers' from two years ago who were so very adamant that, "Obama won't take our guns". Strangely silent these days, I imagine they're hiding in the weeds, afraid to show their faces and be told, "I toldja so". How well I recall the many arguments - almost war-like vehemence - they held toward any who made comment about not trusting him, because/though he has always been anti-firearm. From the first post anyone made that offended their dem-lib-consciousness to the very last posting after the election, these people were so ready to defend their racist viewpoint, to violently defend with their last breath this empty suit they wanted to become President, if for no other reason than to prove to themselves they weren't too prejudiced to vote for a black man.

"The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto..." So reads the Reuters article headline.

In the past, such as when G.W. Bush was President (Oh, gosh-golly-gee, a Republican! Oh! No!), the United States has always refused to enter into any kind of arms trade agreement. And the United States has always held to every nation having a vote or veto.

Now, with U-no-who acting as Presidential as a Communist can, we have Hillary Clinton agreeing to sign onto this United Nations disarmament proposal. Of course, it's being touted under "controlling international trade in firearms", but we know better.

"...Consensus is needed to ensure the widest possible support for the Treaty and to avoid loopholes in the Treaty that can be exploited by those wishing to export arms irresponsibly," Clinton said in a written statement..." Of course not. We just can't have gun show loopholes showing up on the international scene. How abhorrent! (Just so you know: that's sarcasm on my part!)

An interesting point about the people objecting to this treaty are- get this: Israel, China and Russia. (I know: swallow my tongue surprise!)

To begin, I carry, both openly and concealed. Just depends on the time of year. Usually, even my Open Carry is 'concealed' under winter garments so technically, it's concealed carry. Until I take my jacket off.

And there is the crux of what Open Carry, or any carry, is about: "Are we making 'others' uncomfortable by our beliefs put to action?"

In two words: "Who cares?"

If my weapon scares these KumBaYa Bambis, so what? I am no more concerned with how frightened they are of my gun than they are of how frightened I am by their desire to strip me of my rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

If my carrying a weapon in the open disturbs some limp-wristed wussy of a lib-tard, why should it bother me? It isn't I who has the problem- it's the person who doesn't see my God-given and Constitutional right to self protection who has a problem.

It's their problem if they think they have a right to control how I live my freedoms, how seriously I take the rights I have from Higher Authority than they or the dotgov they want to impose upon me. It is not my problem to consider their poor sissified feelings and surrender my rights (or my own feelings, since they want to live by feelings).

The message I'm sending may not be good P-R for their nanny state of mind, but I don't care: I'm not carrying because I'm trying to create good Public Relations- I'm insuring my safety just as I buy car insurance. I'm not going to rely on the local fuzz at 9-1-1 to protect me when I need to. Not that they have any inclination to protect me, or anyone, or even a legal minder to do so, as has been documented. Their job is not to protect me, it's to gather information and capture the criminal who has offended my sensibilities and rights. Nor do I expect them to have to put themselves in harms way for me. Especially when I have the means and where-withal to protect myself.

And if I can't, then they can do their job.

To conclude this rant, I'm going to declare May Fifth to be "Open Carry Day, 2010" and encourage every person in America who owns a firearm to carry it openly. I don't care if it's a rifle, a shotgun, or pistol/revolver- carry it. Carry two if you're so inclined.

Why May Fifth? Because it's Cinco de Mayo and more people will be celebrating a Mexican War holiday in America than will be celebrating their own Independence and Constitutional Rights and God-given responsibility to take care of themselves and their loved ones.

For once, I agree with the ACLU. I already have a national I.D. card: it's called a Birth Certificate (which the esteemed Dark Lord obviously does not). If Dickhead Durbin thinks he's going to make me carry another, he's got a big rude awakening coming.

It's not due to religious beliefs about the "mark of the Beast" that I object to this idea: the "mark" is on the forehead or the hand, not in a wallet and subject to loss.

What I object to is more encroachment upon my liberty, controlled more by an illegal government system.

All such an identification system will do is brand the millions of sheeple who agree with the Dark Lord and drive millions of others underground.

If Durbin, et al, are concerned with the wetback situation, then they can do more to protect our borders and enforcing the laws already on the books- such as Arizona is doing.

Speaking of Arizona: why the hell are Arizona, California, Illinois, or any other state, allowing illegals to stand in front of their capitol buildings, or any building, and protest our laws? Only Americans have the right to protest our government on our own soil.

These wetback shitheads have no Constitutional rights to anything, don't support the Constitution or agree with our laws in the first place. If they did, they'd not be here illegally, so screw them. What every state should do is round up these protesters, check every one for a birth certificate, and ship any without an American B-C to jail, in Guantanamo. Let them protest there. (Of course, I'd love to send all the "American" protesters to Guantanamo with them, but that's not the American Way.

Solo Training...

First, let me discuss what I mean by solo training. I'm defining solo training as someone who took a class/seminar and is working the skill set. They may have started with a video and found that they were not getting some of the intricacies of how the skills flow. So, they make the jump and get the training. Here they will hone what they learned in the video and take it to a deeper understanding. The small things that may not come through on the video come alive when you are there practicing timing, distance and pressure. On the flip side, the video is a great way to refresh after a course. Sometimes we get caught up and only really pick up a few nuggets while in class. A quick review of a video will trigger things you may have almost forgotten by the time you get home.

Here are a few examples from my own experiences in the last few years of how working with someone can make a difference in the efficiency of the learning curve. First, Richard Coplin worked me through a Murphy T-shirt drill. With out his guidance and working the small details, I probably would have destroyed half of my wardrobe and spent countless repetitions and ammo flailing about trying to figure out how to best work though this wardrobe malfunction. Second, a small adjustment to my understanding of how to use a live hand from Mike Janich to sweep an arm through when you are caught inside. I'd seen it, practiced it on my own solo but, did not have true understanding until working it with someone live. I've also experienced these eye opening moments from Tom Sotis, Roger Phillips and Gabe over the last few years.

Self taught would be how I would describe much of my early "combat shooting." I see a lot of it when I'm at the range now. People who want to buy a gun and go out and just fling lead until they hit something. I was mediocre at best and like many, was willing to settle at that. Later as I discovered videos and other people who had skills I wanted to emulate, my understanding and skill set began to grow by leaps and bounds. Do I still try to be self taught? At times, yes. But, to become truly efficient, I find spending time with someone who understands more makes me better.

Being self taught is better than doing nothing at all. Start with the video. Find some friends who want learn and spend time with them. Watch the video all the way through. Go back and freeze frame and move it forward slowly to get the footwork or body mechanics. Then, get off the couch and do something. Try out the new stuff.

Intensity and Visualization

Situations will arise which are not of your own choosing.
You must be fully prepared to meet them with confidence.

How do you build confidence and know you can handle whatever threat might turn your day upside down? Practice! Too simple right? Part of the practice should be as hard and intense as you can make it.

Solo practice

Many times our friends, families and training partners are just not available to practice so we have to do some solo training. Katas? Kinda. The trap many people fall into with kata and solo training is lack of intensity and visualization. We just walk through the steps. We give no thought to what we are actually trying to accomplish. It's just a bunch of moves that we do because we were told to do them. Some of our skill sets allow us to train with better visualization and intensity because we know the goal of our training is to destroy our foe. Come on John, how do you solo train with intensity? Ever looked at photos of Gabe when he is teaching and training. You would have a hard time telling there wasn't someone there he truly disliked and had intent on killing.

Firearms

Your visualization and intensity should include shooting at life like targets. Sure, bullseyes will let you work on the perfectly pinpointed shot; but, will it help you move past the mental barrier of drilling a human being between the eyes when the need arises? Will you be so ingrained with the idea of shooting little circles that you loose focus because there is no X to focus on in the center of mass?

Visualization can be used in live fire or dry fire. Either way picture yourself winning. Make yourself angry. Get primal. These people are here to kill you and rape your child/wife/girlfriend! Still willing to walk through your training?

Yes, basics come first. You must learn the techniques/mechanics. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. But, if you stop there you will never realize your full potential. Now do it as fast and angry as you can. Work some over-speed training into it. Now you are angry/intense and fast. Cold War Scout generously shared an article with me on visualization (NAME OF BOOK) It uses the term "Crisis Rehearsal." It discussed how visualization can be like a small movie in your head. This is similar to how athletes use visualization to walk through a course or plays etc. They cited an example of a Vietnam POW that played 36 holes of golf in his head everyday while in captivity. He played better after his return than before he left.

Over learn tactics and techniques so they become second nature
By familiarizing yourself with the look and feel of a crisis situation, it diffuses the impact of the stress-shock phenomena. And
it imprints learned response patterns on your system so that under pressure they guide your physical reactions instantly and successfully without conscious thought.

Practice multiple scenarios with the outcome of you always winning. Visual the perfect draw stroke, the perfect index of the gun, how the recoil feels, ingrain it into your mind.

Visualization is not a substitute for practice and role playing or force on force. It is will supplement it and put you ahead of someone who finds themselves in the middle of a stressful situation with no prior practice.

Knife and H@H

These skills cross over to knife and empty hand as well. Walking through techniques and mechanics will work the same. Use the same targets as mentioned above to give you a visual target to work angles etc. Now do it fast with intensity. Get the basics down and move on to working strikes on bags, training dummies etc. Go as hard as you can. As Mike Janich said, "Careful, this might feel like exercise." Again, solo training with visualization will not replace working on a resistant opponent that will change distances, speed and timing but, it will help you be better at it.

One of my nephews is on the ball and usually finds time to write his tired old uncle about life in his neck of the woods. Here's a prime example...

Ralph, My neighbor is a "lefty" of sorts (Obama bumper stickers, gung-ho socialized medicine, "guns should be banned", etc.). So last week I put this sign up in my yard after one of his anti-gun rants at a neighborhood cocktail party. The sign wasn't up more than an hour before he called the police and wanted them to make me take down the sign. Fortunately, the officer politely informed him that it was not their job to take such action without a court order and that he had to file a complaint "downtown" first, which would be reviewed by the city attorney to see if it violated any city, county, or state ordinances, which if there was a violation a court order would be sent to the offending party (me) to "remove the sign in seven days". After several weeks he was informed that the sign was legal (by a quarter of an inch) and there was nothing the city could do, which obviously made him madder. I tried to smooth things over by inviting him to go shooting with me and my friends at the hunt club but that seemed to make him even more angry. I then asked him if he wanted to go to a Tea Party rally but again he declined my outreach efforts to bring about a better understanding between political and social opponents. I am at a loss how to reconcile our long relationship (notice I did not say friendship), any suggestions would be welcomed.Anyway, that's life in our neck of the woods, how's about yours?

Spirit of '76, Part Two: Commentary

234 years in the making, Patriots from every part of the United States of America gathered in hundreds of rallies to do more than make a statement of remembrance for what our ancestors did.
We re-lived their actions.
The expression is, "History repeats itself."
And that is what happened yesterday. History repeated itself. The original Tea Party was a protest of a burdensome, undesired and undeserved tax imposed by a tyrannical king unwilling to listen to the voice of his subjects.
In Duluth alone more than a thousand gathered to protest the unjust laws being enacted by an uncaring and not-listening gang of representatives. Nation wide there were an estimated 5 million or more.
As did King George those many years ago, King Hussein Obama chose to not listen to the voices of the People.
"Obama skips out on boisterous rally" reads the WaPo headline... but we know better. He didn't 'skip'. Like the coward he is, he ran out of town on the pretext of chatting with NASA 'employees'- none of whom were present at the fund-raiser dinner.

History repeats itself.

There are detractors of the new Tea Parties. A media that denigrates and marginalizes the people. Tories, subservient and boot-licking to the king, threaten and disrupt the rallies. Politicians in a government who turn deaf ears to the real needs of their employers, treat them like field hands, and worse- ignore them.

Only a fool or someone totally blind and ignorant of what Life is about would choose to allow the history of this nation of Freedom, Peace loving citizens to repeat itself.

"Good morning, Lord. Thank You for giving me one more day to get it right. Today is Friday, April 16, 1776..."

And a shock went through me, my morning ritual of greeting the day, jolting me totally awake as I realized what I'd just said. My next thought was wonder if that is something spoken by John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, or John Q Public, this day 234 years ago.

Did they also awaken the day after their Tea Party and thank God for giving them "one more day to get it right", hoping in their heart that King George would listen?

Did they arise, unshutter their window to look upon a bright morning, hear the bird-song and watch the cool breeze wave the branches of the leafless forest about them, thinking of the duty this day brought? The plowing, the seeding, the cleaning of harness and tools, of feeding their livestock, providing for their own.

Did they wonder what kind of news this day would bring about their actions of the previous day? What would the effect be when the King heard the news?

Did they look to the rifle and powder horn, the bag of round balls hanging above the mantle and say a silent prayer that those tools would not be necessary today?

Did they sip their morning tea in fearful thought of what they'd done- all the while hoping common sense and calm heads would prevail?

Despite it all, did they steel their nerve, resolve to see this issue through to the end, regardless the personal cost, knowing this was not for themselves, but for those soft, joyous faces of the children still sleeping in the rooms above? Knowing it was for those they did not yet know but dreamt of one day bouncing on their knee, of tickling under the chin, of holding close and telling them he loved them. Did they shake their head and rebuke the devils of war invading their thoughts?

Did they wonder about those neighbors who derided and discounted and ridiculed them their actions, their beliefs, their desires to be free, to just be heard by those in power?

Did they wonder upon which of those neighbors could they depend when the moments came to act upon the declaration they'd made yesterday? Could those who agreed in principle yet stood on the sidelines be counted upon to help carry the burden that could soon be thrust upon them all?

In conclusion to yesterday's lakeside event, all who'd served in uniform to this great country were asked to organize to the side of the field. As we stood- nearly one third the attendance, about 400 men and women- in haphazard formation, Lee Greenwood's song "God Bless the U.S.A." was played.

"...I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend Her still today..."

These were men we knew we could count upon because they were there, made their intentions clear, unequivocal. These were men who had already loaded and primed their rifles, had sharpened their knives. Men who knew the taste of fear and the smell of gunpowder and blood upon their hands, who'd seen brothers fall beside them and knew the finality of death's action to life. These were men who'd answered the questions in no uncertain terms, knew the consequences that could come because of their beliefs, their love of country, but most, for love of their family.

These were men with teary eyes worthy of standing beside.

These were Patriots.

Bless God, God bless us in that history need not repeat itself to keep us free.

There were more flags than "protest signs", which actually worked better because of the 20mph wind coming off the bay.

Usually reserved people listened attentively to the speakers state our aims and goals, the desires of all who came.

Although an anti-abortion message, this flag has a double-entendre in telling who is now charged with paying the bills this country has amassed.

Who this rally really represents.

Really? What "election"?

I really do just absolutely have to ask this question...

"Just what makes anyone think there's actually going to be an election in November?"

First, a dyed-in-the-wool Communist moves to the White House. (No: I refuse to say "he" was "elected".)

Then he appoints nothing but baby killing One-World Gaia worshippers to every office he possibly can. And these same people condemn and marginalize and besmirch honest, real Americans as being terrorists and criminal in their actions.

Next this Communist is running around the world telling people who suck their existence from our tit that we are a bane to the world, are not worth the time of day.

Through threats, blackmail, bribery and outright lies, he gets control of the largest businesses in the world as well as shivving a forced-to-purchase non-insurance insurance program upon only real Americans- Muslim and illegals need not purchase, just receive. To really frost the cake, his minions create a situation where everyone gets to pay doctors to abort the children and euthanize the elderly.

And not a whimper from any American about all of this. (If there was, it sure didn't make enough noise to make the news on any but "conservative talk radio".)

(Okay: I'm being facetious there: I know we made a hell of an uproar, but no one heard. Kind of like the tree falling in the forest when no one is around to hear it fall: did it make a sound? My point here is really that "we allowed the MSM to make our issues "non-issues", therefore, "we did not make a whimper" over any of these issues.)

And now people are crying because we're losing more and more rights to the "PTB".

Why? Why are we whining and talking about "wait till the next election"?

And every Californian is going to swallow it hook, line and sinker because "it's for the children". (And every wet-back in California is going to dig out more ammunition and lock and load.)

Why?

Because no one has stepped up and "read them their rights". They have no fear, no dread of "losing their jobs" or "wait till the next election". No one has taken the media to task- and I'm not talking about a letter writing or Email campaign or making snide comments on the news site. (Read the comments to the article.)

Someone in California has to step up to the plate and unequivocally show the MSM what their responsibilities truly are.

Here I am pointing fingers at Californians.

I won't apologize, but am going to say that Californians are not the only ones to blame. Though "what begins in California becomes the norm nationwide" is quite possibly true, it is no excuse to wait for something to start (in California) before it spreads.

We The People need to get off our knees- the time for praying for change was before it became law- and start acting.

We The People need to let the MSM and politicians know in no uncertain terms that we are fed up to the gills with the un-American activities they promulgate.

It's time to take the battle to the enemy.

The Mediocrity Man...

I want to introduce you to a hypothetical man named John Smith. John Smith is a private citizen. That means that he is not hampered by political directives or policies at federal, state or local levels. But John thinks he is "just a civilian". John has sought mediocrity his entire life. John was bred to be mediocre from the time he was enrolled in first grade. It is what he was trained for since birth....don't make waves...be a nice guy...you can't do this...you can't do that...do as you are told and be a good mediocre civilian citizen.
Then John realized he'd better buy a pistol and carry it because his neighbor was robbed, beaten, raped or brutalized, and the police did not come in time for anything but the report. Being a father and a husband, he did have a glimmering of the understanding of responsability.
So he went to the local gunstore and allowed the patronizing oversized cigar-smoking salesman to talk him into buying a double action only Smith and Wesson because it had several safeties and a real heavy and long trigger pull. "It is great for a mediocrity-seeking civilian like you John", announced the salesman as he wiped doughnut juice on his dingy Local Police Revolver Club t-shirt.
John asked about the Glocks and XDs and M&Ps that looked so modern and cool, and about how many bullets the clip held.

"Oh no...those are for professionals son....you are a civilian...you don't need anything like that. And why do you need more than seven rounds son. You're not gonna go commando on us are you?". Being a mediocrity seeker, and not wanting to be guilty of the sin of arguing, John blushed and chuckled nervously. He bought the Smith and Wesson and went home. He did go to a free handgun clinic at the local range taught by an ex-security guard after he passed his CCW class. But all the guy talked about was how he would get sued if he ever shot anyone so not to shoot anyone. John went to that range a couple of times and shot one round per second like a good mediocre citizen.

Someone told him about more comprehensive classes teaching gunfighting, but John laughed nervously again. Shaking his head he told himself, I am not a gunfighter...I am just a civilian...what do I need to do with gunfighting?" He was a civilian and did not need to go to one of those "commando schools", or learn how to kill like that crazy ad said. He didn't like carrying a gun in the first place and was beginning to convince himself to just leave it at home. That is what his wife would want even though she had allowed him to buy the gun in the first place.

So John went on with his life doing his best to avoid bad things, bad places and bad people. But one day, as much as he tried, as much as anyone tries, trouble came to him. He found himself at church when some crazy terrorist decided today was going to be Judgement Day. After shooting the pastor in the head, he began shooting people in the crowd. The congregation was also full of mediocrity seekers, and those that did not get shot outright, ran away like properly conditioned civilians are trained to do.
But John was torn about running with the rest of the herd, or fighting. He drew his pistol and tried to aim it but it felt strange in his hands....after all civilians did not need to train like Delta Force so John had spent his free time playing tennis and watching television instead. He wondered if he was ready to do what he was thinking of doing. At that moment a round from the terrorist caught his frozen wife right in the face and dropped her dead at his feet. As he turned open-mouthed, to see her die, three rounds hit him in the chest, two piercing his heart.....and the last thought that he had before he faded into blissfull unconscious death was,
"......but I am just a civilian".

If that is what you seek for yourself, do not let us interfere with your quest for mediocrity. But if that is not what you want, we can help you to be the best warrior you can be.

So I'm sitting at the table eating lunch when a neighbor walks in. (Yes, just walks in- everyone who knows me just walks in. Dunno why, but no one ever knocks on my door.)
"Hey, whatchyupto?" he asks.
Pointing at my plate, I tell him, "Taking a bath."
"Good- you look like you need one." Good reparte, think I.
He pours himself a cup of coffee and joins me at the table, says, "Got a birthday present for Humphrey I want you to look at, lemme know whatchya think."

We talk about the weather while drinking coffee and finishing my lunch, then wander outside to his car.

There's a big grin on his face as he opens the backseat and pulls out Humphrey's Henry.

Humphrey will be eleven this May and being a typical grandfather, Erv wants to get him something that'll have some meaning for more than just a single year, or day.

And he found this little gem to be the first "real" gun Humphrey owns. It's a Henry .22 lever action, just like the cowboys used to carry. (As usual, click pix to enlargen. [I know 'enlargen' ain't a word, but it works.])
Henrys are made in the good old USofA, someplace on the East Coast- New York, I think, and are a popular rifle. This one, being .22, handles 15 rounds of Long Rifle, 17 Longs and 21 rounds of Shorts- of course, not all at the same time. I dunno if it's possible, or even advisable, to mix-n-match rounds, but imagine it is, but why?
Back to Humphrey's rifle.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but I was duly impressed with the tiger striped American Walnut stock- very impressed. The grain is probably the best I've seen on any rifle. And Henry does brag about its wood.

The front site was nothing to write home about, though. Made of modern day plastic, I wasn't impressed at all. Also, it has a hood, which I've never liked on my Marlins and have removed, though I do understand the reasoning behind having it there. Protect the sight from dings, nicks, scrapes and getting knocked out of adjustment. Still- and this one shows it pretty well- they can get knocked around and bent out of shape, too. (Erv did buy the rifle from a friend of his, so the gun is used. Except for the hood, the rifle is in NIB condition, though. I really doubt more than a box of bullets have gone through it.)

The rear sight is typical flat-topped square notch adjustable for windage with a hammer (OK, kidding: use a hardwood drift pin and light tapping with a hammer in the direction desired.) Finish on the rifle receiver was a beautiful black paint job over aluminum- I don't know if Henry is using aluminum for all their receivers these days, but it looks OK. Not the toughest finish in the world since it's paint or enamel.

One word of caution is in order here, too: there is no "manual" safety on this rifle other than the "half cock" position. Just the way it should be, IMO. Teach them right the first time to not rely on safeties, but on muzzle control.

Once initial inspection and congratulations were given out, I grabbed a couple boxes of 510's and a box of Stingers and we took the rifle to the range behind the house. (Its a short 100 foot range but adequate for most the shooting friends and I tackle.)

As you can see, the Stinger case (silver) is just about 3/32 inch longer than a 510 (common, average size 22LR). I mention this because while we were shooting, I noticed a bit of resistance to the chambering of the Stinger.

So far as the action is concerned, I was again impressed with how silky smooth it was. It's a full 90 degree stroke to load and cock, just like a 'real' lever action rather than the 60 degree throw of some models. Loading the Henry is typical of most tubular fed rimfires: twist the locking tab on the end of the tube, draw out the compression spring insert tube, load the bullets by either dropping them i via the bullet shaped hole (with the tube still partially in), or pull the spring tube all the way out and drop the bullets in the open end, which is my preferred method. Doing that, be careful to not walk off and forget the tube, though.

Once loaded, point the muzzle at the ground downrange and work the lever just like John Wayne did to load the chamber. Again, keep your finger off the trigger till you're ready to shoot- this is a half cock safety, so you'd better be darn sure where the muzzle is when applying it in usual fashion: hold hammer back with thumb while carefully depressing the trigger, let the hammer go forward a bit, release the trigger and slowly lower the hammer to its half-cock. To fire, pull the hammer back to full cock and aim, squeeze off the round, and cycle the action for the next... hmmm, getting long-winded again and rambling...

As mentioned, I'd felt a bit of unusual resistance while cycling the action with Stingers. Actually, got kind of concerned at first because I thought I'd damaged the rifle. But, thankfully, inspection disclosed the problem and all is well.

I extracted the round, noticed some scratching on it and a small chip of the bullet scored away. Sooooo... pull out tube, empty all rounds, re-insert the first and look at things more closely. (You can see the etching on the bullet case.)

The problem was the added length of the Stinger and the case meeting the chamber throat early and, not being malleable as lead, create just a whimper of resistance before going in. It is noticeable, but nothing to worry about, IMO. Just something we should be aware of.

EGADS! That's a small rifle! Comes quick to the shoulder and points right the first time, though the ear muffs did cause a little clank in my ear when the stock hit them. Actually, side by side comparison with my Marlin '94 shows the Henry to be about half an inch longer due to the rear stock wrist (where the hand goes) being nearly an inch longer than the Marlin's. There is definitely a difference in weight, too. The Henry is probably falling in about five pounds, loaded. The Marlin is tipping seven pounds loaded. The wood, though beautiful, is a bit less in substance/size compared to the Marlin, but probably in keeping with most Winchesters I've seen, which also seem kind'a skimpy with their wood.

Handling was a breeze, too- and fun. Talk about F-U-N! Wow. There's something, to me, about actually being part of the working end of a rifle, and having to work the action on the Henry was... well, fun. Not as quick firing as a semi auto, but faster than a bolt and probably on par with a pump.

How well did it shoot? I can't blame the gun for lack of accuracy, that's for sure. Using open sights with my old eyes isn't the best option- which is why all my rifles have scopes- but I think I managed well enough to impress Erv with the group.

The previous owner had obviously sighted the rifle in, or the factory did a marvelous job of bore-sighting. Either way, the group was little over an inch and nothing I'd whine about for a little .22 plinker-small game getter.

I'm certain Humphrey is going to be over-joyed this birthday- he and Gramps may well find themselves at the Shy Wolf Range for some first lessons.

Would I recommend this rifle for an adult? Or even myself? I dunno- verdict isn't in yet. The things I didn't like about the rifle were nit-picky things such as the aluminum receiver and plastic front sight (which I'm sure can probably be changed). Its diminutive size and weight make it a wonderful little gun for a Bug Out Bag or a Get Home Bag. It is certainly a classic First Gun for any youngster. No parent would go wrong getting it, though it probably isn't a gun that will be handed down from generation to generation due to the aluminum receiver. Time will tell.

Dang, I dunno. Marlin makes a really sweet little .22 lever... well, they did till their parent company shut down the North Haven factory.

Who do they think they're kidding, anyway? Other than the MSM and the die-hard lovers of the Dark Lord, no one is going to believe that crap.

Why do I think this? Simple, when we think about it.

First, only idiots will E-mail someone and tell them they're going to kill them or beat them or make threats endangering the person's family. OK, I take back that they're not being threatened- it's being done by idiots, and we all know the only idiots around are the ones who believe in the Dark Lord. So they're making the "threats" for two reasons: they want to get honest people in trouble and make themselves feel good at the same time while making Patriots look bad.

Another reason we know there are no "bullets being shot through windows" is extremely obvious: any Patriot who shoots through a window isn't going to miss their target and there'd be a body laying on the floor near that window. We aren't going to waste ammunition to send a threat. Sheesh- how stupid does the Glib Commie party think we are? (Obviously, pretty stupid, I guess! :( ) We'll send rocks and bricks through windows first, to get the message across and wait to use the heavy metal for real conflict.

But then, we can rest assured the Commies are going to use this idea to implement martial law soon as they can... so we can expect them to eliminate a low-echelon member of their organization to hurry things along.

And that's enough for today. I'm too busy playing and trying to find things to carry this thought any farther. Besides, I have some heavy metal to send down range.

Whetting a Blade...

Every now and then (like every day, or very nearly) I visit MD Creekmore's Survival Blog. And why not? He has tons of useful information and lots of readers- some of who have most excellent questions. Such as today.

One reader was asking about the proper way to sharpen a knife.

I made a (probably futile) attempt at answering his question using words. But we all know one picture is worth a thousand words. So here are some pictures, with words, to make another attempt at answering the question.

One thing we all know- or should- is that a dull blade is about as useful as an empty gun. Makes a good Yawara but not much else. Not to mention, being cut by a dull blade hurts a helluva lot more than being cut by a sharp blade. (Of course I speak from experience!)

While I'm talking about MD's site, I should probably mention that he has a contest going on now for a couple DVD's that are definitely worth going after. One is by Gabe Suarez- modern American gunfighter with some unorthodox techniques, for sure, but every one proven in Force on Force training. For one, I highly chop rocks, recommend Gabe's books, videos and training.

The other is by James Talmadge Stevens, who I have no real knowledge of- but will admit if MD has it in his library, it's got to be good.

OK, enough advertising... back to the task at hand.

In order of priority, one needs ("one" being a person) a good stone. A bad stone will put some kind of edge on a blade, but for a really good, razor sharp edge, get the best you can. My recommendations in that area are two: a diamond stone is best; then a hard Arkansas stone, fine or superfine grind. Honestly- a "superfine" grind is probably best saved for straight razors or double edge razor blades- and yes, I do sharpen both, but it's beyond this.

In diamond, go for a red- the "fine" stone. If you're the kind who uses his blade to chop rocks, then a blue stone will be needed as well, or a grinder.

In the top photo, you'll see the diamond stone being wet under a faucet- you can use a lake or mud puddle or swimming pool, a river or rain barrel. It doesn't matter, but diamond stones work with water as lubricant, so get it wet. (Most instructions say to run it under sink faucet.)

Once the stone is wet, put it on a flat, stable surface such as a table top. I sometimes use my knee when in a rush, but for best results, use a table.

Holding the knife at right angles to the stone, at an angle of about 25 degrees- your best guide is going to be the original grind angle of the blade. You can look down the edge of the blade as it rests on the stone to get a better picture of what you want. Just know that differing angles of grind have different purposes. A thin, flat edge is really good for things as filleting fish, where a more round or flat edge will follow the skin better than a steeper "utility" edge. What we're going for is a utility edge here- which won't work for straight razors all too well: want more of a fillet edge there.

Dang, I digress again. With the knife at right angles to the stone, draw the blade down the stone with an even pressure. The picture shows the start of the stroke- draw toward the blade edge. This eliminates burrs right from the start, maintaining a smooth edge. Pull the full length of the stone, don't stop in mid-stroke. Two reasons for this. One is to get most use of the stone, the other is if you're using a genuine stone, you don't want to hollow it and this will slow that process.

Once at the "end" of the stroke, follow the curve of the blade by using your wrist to "flick" the tip of the blade off the stone.

Now, flip the blade in your hand to face the opposite direction and push the blade back up the stone to your beginning point. Again, try to maintain the same pressure and "flick" the blade off the stone in the same manner.

Again, what you're trying to do is maintain the same angle and pressure on the blade as on the first stroke.

Repeat the process an even number of times- I begin with ten strokes- and the reason for this is wear on the blade: you're trying to keep the edge even on both sides.

Once you've done ten strokes, look at the blade. Is there a visible edge on it? One that catches light? If so, do four more strokes- or enough to eliminate the light reflective edge. If there is no edge you can see, draw the knife edge across your thumbnail. Does it "drag" or does it slide smoothly across the nail? If it "drags", give the blade two to four more strokes on the stone and try again. If it slides smoothly - almost without feeling- across the thumbnail, you can put it away cuz it's sharp.
Or, if you're like me and can't resist it, hold the blade against your arm and try shaving off some hair. (I say arm, but you can go to your chin or throat or leg or... any place you have hair :) )

Shaving hair from an arm has long been the mark of a sharp blade, but understand that hair arm is a lot less coarse- not finer- than chin hair. You can shave some chinny-chin-chin hair if you want, but be careful and put on a more rounded edge to your blade.

And, yes- the blade I sharpened did shave hair from my arm. One thing that will really be a determining factor in how sharp your blade will get is the quality of the steel. My experience has been that higher carbon content steels will "take an edge" better than stainless- especially Chinese stainless. But- and there is a "but"- Rockwell 440C stainless does take a very good edge. I have shaved with my Westmark 702 (awarded as a test sample back in 1976 as part of a Centennial blade produced by Western Cutlery and a most wonderful blade).

IF you find a need to "strop" a blade, here's how I do it- no guarantee that it's right, just the way I've done it for years with my straight razor and edged weapons.

A "strop" has two sides: one "coarse" and one "fine"- just flipsides of the strop. They're actually the inside and outside of a tanned hide. The coarse side, used to work an edge to a razor, is actually the inside of the critter's skin. This will put a "rough" finish on your blade. To get a silky edge to your blade, use the fine/smooth side of the hide. My strop is the one Dad gave me, about 90 years old and still working fine. However, my opinion is- and I've tried it- is that nearly any 1 1/2" wide belt will work so long as both sides are smooth, without the fancy carving we find on so many wide belts these days.

And there, my Dear Friend, is a quick primer on how to sharpen a blade. Don't be discouraged if your first couple attempts won't get you to a razor edge- it's an art that really does take some patience. Later you can utilize a steel to hone your edge, but again, a steel is for an edge that's already sharp- they won't put a good edge on a bad blade. It's pretty much the same technique in use: draw the edge of the blade down the steel, getting opposing sides as you go.

Speaker Pelosi knew the country was against the bill. That is why she kept her members trapped in Washington and forced a vote on Sunday.
She knew if she let the members go home their constituents would convince them to vote no.
The Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine combined the radicalism of Alinsky, the corruption of Springfield and the machine power politics of Chicago.
Sunday was a pressured, bought, intimidated vote worthy of Hugo Chavez but unworthy of the United States of America.
It is hard to imagine how much pressure they brought to bear on congressman Stupak to get him to accept a cynical, phony clearly illegal and unconstitutional executive order on abortion. The ruthlessness and inhumanity of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine was most clearly on display in their public humiliation of Stupak.
The real principles of the machine were articulated by Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings who was impeached and removed from the bench as a federal judge, before being elected to the House when he said "There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something...All this talk about rules...When the deal goes down...we make 'em up as we go along."
It is hard for the American people to believe their leaders on the Left are this bad. They are.
The American people will not allow a corrupt machine to dictate their future.
Together we will pledge to repeal this bill and start over
Together we will prove that this will not stand.
2010 and 2012 will be among the most important elections in American history.

She told one of our AFP staff, "This is my first rally. … I didn't think it would come to this." For example, with regards to interval, the bad guy may be at arm's length, or he may be 50 meters away. How you handle a man at phone booth distances will vary greatly from the same man with the same weapon at 50 meters. As well, space is a consideration. While it may not matter at 50 meters, having space to move and fight would be an asset for you if you face an attack at arm's length. We know that "Getting Off The X" is an advantage at close range fights so being able to exploit the space to do so at close range would be a good thing. Finally, the issue of initiative must be examined. Where are you in the reaction cycle? Did you see it coming and prepare, or did you first notice the fight when you sipped your espresso?
So that leads us to an examination of how to Manage the X. The secret is to change your positioning in relation to the adversary's attack. There are several ways to accomplish this, but at its foundation is the need to change the relationship between the line of attack and the intended target.
One possibility and a very common one in the world of gun people is Attacking From The X. Attacking from the X requires that your position on the initiative continuum allow for such a proactive and preemptive action. Where you are with regards to space available and distance to target does not affect the decision to attack as long as the proper weapons are used. One can launch a preemptive attack at 5 feet or at 500 feet. As well one can do the same if he was standing in the middle of a football field or in a phone booth. Conceptually it is the same and the only thing that would change with the varying distances and space variances would be the tools and techniques used. Attacking from the X is a very proactive concept that may be a stationary or moving attack.
Another possibility is Defending The X. Defending The X is the first reactive option, and probably the least desirable as it is the most tenuous. It involves holding your ground and fighting from your existing position, probably because you have no distance advantage (he is just outside of arm's reach), no spatial advantage (you do not have the option of moving off his line of attack), and no initiative advantage (you are reactive, not having anticipated and prepared). While this is certainly an unenviable place to be, we cannot ignore the possibility of being there. If so, our first consideration, after the fight begins, will be to gain an advantage either in the spatial or interval areas.
Moving the X is one option that is rarely considered in the gun world, but always a first option in the world of martial arts. It differs from getting off the line of fire (getting off the x) mainly due to interval problems. Conceptually, it is most applicable inside arm's reach where you can affect position by moving around an adversary, either by your own positional changes or by moving or redirecting his own attack. This in effect does the same thing as moving off the line of fire. Consider an attacker is coming in with a Folsom Prison stabbing attack. You pass the attack off to your right and now find yourself off his right shoulder...on his flank. You have vastly improved your positioning and moved the X off his attacking line. We see a great deal of this in the new class Zero To Five Feet - Pistol Gunfighting. This can be on any place along the initiative continuum, either proactive or reactive.
Finally we have Moving Off The X. The X of course is the intended target's current position. By employing various movement methods, one can evade an adversary's initial attack and counter him before he can recover. Generally a reactive concept, it is usually most applicable when the operator is in a poor position with regards to initiative, but has some distance available as well as some space available. And these do not need to be extreme as one can apply the get off the x concept in a hallway with the proper techniques.
By understanding these concepts, and organizing your training around them, the speed with which you are able to perceive the appropriate response and put it to use will be faster. And that will increase your chances of prevailing in the fight."

Happy St. Paddy's Day

OK, let's face it: I'm crazy. If not crazy, at least not 'normal'.

Awoke this morning and the first three thoughts in my head were: Happy St. Paddy's Day; Brigid (of Home On The Range fame); and Kim Delaney and her role in NYPD as alcoholic Detective Diane Russel.

Now I don't want Brigid to think I'm being crude or in any way mean to her, so if she takes offense at this, I apologize right now.

Thinking about all this got me to wondering why these three thoughts occurred simultaneously and all I can think of is that they are all Irish. (If not Irish, they're close enough in my mind.)

Kim Delaney was born in Philly, PA. in November, 1961 and did a stint as a model before beginning acting. Days of Our Lives kept her on the day time soaps (never seen it) and she had a role on CSI Miami (which I also haven't seen- and maybe am glad I didn't since most the women on CSI Miami are syrupy, whiny clones of each other and we won't discuss the sappy cliche's touted as dialogue by the rest of the players).

NYPD, as I recall, was a pretty 'cutting edge' series in the plots, 'human-ness' of the characters and the 'dark and gritty' photography. Much of what we see today originated with this series. Real characters with real lives and real problems, and not at all perfect as either people or officers.

Now, how did Brigid get mixed into this mess? Gosh, I wish I knew.

Other than inferring from her writing her choice of career, her love of guns and the poetic verse of her writing and the fact she's a Celtic Lass with a love of Freedom, there's no reason for her to be on my mind. Well, other than the fact she's female- and, like all women in the lives of men, very much a mystery that I sometimes fantasize unravelling.

Being of French-Canadian and Irish descent, I have no problem knowing why St. Paddy would come to mind today. He's got the day to himself and there will be enough green beer swilled today to float the Titanic. (Yes, I'll add my share.)

To all of you, a Happy St. Paddy's Day. Please, be safe, think before you drink and don't drive if you drink. It may be Detective Russel who stops you. But you won't like the result.
To Brigid, if I have offended you, I sincerely apologise (and believe me, I'm worrying about it).

Alabama - Voters in 1996 approved a "Sportsperson's Bill of Rights" that stated "all persons shall have the right to hunt and fish in this state in accordance with law and regulations."
California – Has language guaranteeing a right to fish.
Georgia - In 2006, voters approved an amendment stating "The tradition of fishing and hunting and the taking of fish and wildlife shall be reserved for the people and shall be managed by law and regulation for the public good."
Louisiana – Voters in 2004 approved an amendment stating "The freedom to hunt, fish, and trap wildlife, including all aquatic life, traditionally taken by hunters, trappers and anglers, is a valued natural heritage that shall be forever preserved for the people."
Minnesota – Voters in 1998 approved an amendment stating "Hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of our heritage that shall be forever preserved for the people and shall be managed by law and regulation for the public good."
Montana – Voters in 2004 amended the state constitution in part to read "the opportunity to harvest wild fish and wild game animals is a heritage that shall forever be preserved to the individual citizens of the state."
North Dakota – The North Dakota constitution reads in part "Hunting, trapping, and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of our heritage and will be forever preserved for the people and managed by law and regulation for the public good." That amendment was adopted in 2000.
Oklahoma - Oklahoma's amendment gave all people the right to "hunt, trap fish and take game and fish." The amendment passed with 80 percent of the vote.
Rhode Island – Has constitutional language guaranteeing a right to fish.
Vermont – Passed language protecting hunting and fishing in state constitution in 1877.
Virginia - Voters approved an amendment in 2000 that states "the people have a right to hunt, fish, and harvest game, subject to such regulations and restrictions as the General Assembly may prescribe by general law."

So when we look at the issue of the Dark Lord making an end run with an Executive Order to prohibit fishing, we aren't talking or whining about being unable to wet a line/hook a fish. We're talking States' Rights- and there-by, Individual Rights.

And that, my Dear Friends, is what Freedom, the Constitution and life is about: our individual rights to live our lives as we please, so far as no one is injured or harmed by our actions and activities.

And this is what the tree huggers and environmentalists are about: delegating human names, traits, lives, thought processes and characteristics to animals, going so far as to actually give them Constitutional Rights in courts of law.

And it's what we have to defend against. Not the ability to catch a fish or hunt a wabbit or poor little Bambi's cousin. (Bambi has long been dead if deer-longevity is considered.) Well, 'scuse me: maybe it's Bambi's great-grandson we're hunting.

Regardless: along with our civil rights as human beings, our Constitutional Rights as Americans, our God given rights as His creation- and also by His decree if one studied the Scriptures, we must fight for the right to fish. To hunt. To breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon products. While we're at it, we must also fight for the animal's right to fart carbon products.

It's all part of the great Liberal scheme to control us. Control their food supply and you control the person. And guess who's trying to control the population. Two guesses and the first one doesn't count.

So reading the above from Mike's blog (go there and read LOTS more!) (http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2010/03/feds-go-merrily-prepping-for-something.html ) and thinking about all the new crap-- real, rumored or imagined-- coming out of the District of Criminals in the last few months, my thought synapse go into the Beyond Paranormal Paranoiac mode.

And I just gotta ask: "Just why does the National Park Service need .223, 9mm, .40 cal, .308, 12 gauge, and more, ammunition?"

For the last week or so nearly every outdoor blog has some kind of comment about the "anti fishing executive order".

And we are all absolutely certain, verifiably know, that the fed/dotgov monitors blogs.

So, being in Beyond Paranormal Paranoiac mode, I think, "This is some serious shit." Seriously serious.

I've spent the last couple days polishing up the canoe and kayak, checking the fishing tackle, rewinding reels and trying to decide just what kind of new hooks do I really need... all the while dreaming of open water and the feel of the paddle in my hands, the swish of water under the keel while dragging a hook waiting for that monster King Of All Monster Fish to attack my hook.

And then I think of the DNR officials watching me through their scoped .308 and I just know I've got to add something different to the fishing supplies this year.

Guns and bullets.

Those SOBs are really going to implement some action they hope will bring this country to its knees, and they're going after anyone with a gun or fishing rod, a garden- yes, even the Department of Agriculture is ordering some weapons and ammunition. And they're going after the home schoolers- otherwise, there'd be no need for the Department of Education to need Remington 870 12 gauge shotguns (with "illegal for civilian barrel lengths!). I'd really like for someone to tell me why the Department of Energy needs SR25 ModII Assault rifles in 7.62 (.308) caliber-- all with sound suppressors built-in.

Did someone tell the fed that Geronimo has been reincarnated? Just what is the reason the Bureau of Indian Affairs needs 30 Rock River LE2070 rifles?

Gee, but does it seem that someone is getting a bit paranoid about just how far they've pushed some people? Is there the feeling in some office cubicles that they'd best get their game plan together before someone decides to do more than fly a plane into their building? Or a lot of "someone's" decide they've had enough of the bullshit being forced down their throat and do something about it?

Heck, maybe I'm just getting a swelled head with thinking, "I have no reason to fear my government, but they've plenty reason to fear me".

Christians In Action...

...are helping us keep America free. Well, people in my neck of the woods, anyway.

In the "what'd you do to prep this week?" column, a visit to my fave gun and ammo shop favored me with a surprise buy of 9mm pistol ammo. As the pictures show, it's kind of "ancient" in date of manufacture and origin.

Too, the brass looks as though it's reloads and the weight of the bullet is a mystery to me, as well. (I'm sure someone in Reader Land has experience with this kind of dot-gov marking and can supply further information.) I'm guessing the bullets are 115 grain FMJ (the FMJ is obvious) but wouldn't be surprised if they're 124 grain. Perhaps not reloads, there is definitely some age corrosion showing and I have yet to run a few rounds through the Nine to test function. (Have to admit, I did pick the worst looking of the lot to photo.)

Since I don't intend reloading these, my only real concern is the "rings" visible and if they'll cause extraction problems in the XD or Smith. If they do, I'll get lots of practice at clearing jams/feed/extraction problems-- so there's always a silver lining! (I suppose I could dismantle one, or weigh the whole cartridge, and compare it to a known weight, but why get so ambitious?)

Regardless, at $240 for one thousand rounds, I'm not going to whine because the weight isn't exactly what I shoot. (Not that I'm particular- when the time comes and I need ammo, it won't matter which corpse (not "corps") I take the ammo from. One dead body's as good as another and if they're shooting 115 or 124 grain ammo is a moot point when it comes time to return more ammo to the provider.
So, in all fairness to our Friendly Fed, I want to say "Thank you for providing me with more means of defending my Constitution and country. Thanks a bunch, Guys."

Even Mike over at Sipsey Street is involved- and why not? This is a Constitutional issue every American should be involved with whether they fish or not. Not that a survivalist would be too concerned with the "legalities" of fishing or hunting- when it comes to eating, screw "legal" and hunt and fish to your heart's content. No man-- and that includes the dipshit living in the White House-- has the right to tell another they cannot feed themselves or their loved ones.

Yet this is what is happening.

Curtail the food supply and you control the person.

It's happening with the NAIS registering of cattle. It's happening when laws are enacted that turn our food stocks such as corn into fuel for our vehicles. It's happening when lands are put off limits to hunting, or in this case, fishing. It's happening when we're told we cannot grow our own foods unless they're government inspected and approved- either animal or vegetable, the fed is making no distinction. It's time for every man, woman and child in this country to pick up the banner of Freedom, carry placards and write letters, make phone calls and office visits when practical, and get on the bandwagon of fighting for our rights as Free people. Even if we don't fish or forage-- yet.

Personally, if this becomes a reality, I'd not want to be a DNR officer/Game Warden who walked up to anyone caught fishing and being told they can't. Hooks make some very nasty hanging utensils.

It's doubtful such a law will be enacted in Minnesota, since we have the right to fish and hunt in our State Constitution. Nor would state residents stand still for such stupidity even from their god.

Fishing is the Number One draw for summer time activities in Minnesota. The Walleye is the state fish. Fishing license sales are in the high millions of dollars-- in the neighborhood of 700 thousand were sold in 2002 alone and the number rises each year. Multiply that by this year's fee of $17 for an individual fishing-only license, and get an idea of how much revenue will be lost by the state alone. (Minnesota offers a 'combination' license for fishing and small game hunting at a reduced cost as opposed to buying the two separately. The fee for the 'combo' license this year is $29.50.) Having a fishing license is one of the best ways to gather dietary protein and have more fun than you can wave a rod and reel at so far as Minnesota's DNR is concerned.

Then there are the spin-off industries that profit immensely from fishing. A $1.58 BILLION (the "B" is correct) industry is nothing to sneeze at-- it's the largest sport industry in the nation.

Gas sales rise dramatically Opening Day, usually the second week end of May. Hundreds of thousands of people work in related industries- not to mention the numerous fishing related television and radio programs that promote the sport. Hundreds of small businesses provide jobs and, thereby, income for thousands of state residents. From kids growing worms and operating minnow traps to full-blown businesses doing the same, there's money to be made in chasing after the 158 different species of finned friends in Minnesota.

Minnesota has one boat for every six residents. (In that case, I have enough for a family of 48!) That's 900 thousand registered boats in Minnesota. And with 3,800,000 acres of fishing waters, that's more water acreage than a lot of states have for total landmass.

Tackle manufacturers sell millions of dollars of product every year, whether rods, reels, or hooks, it's a huge business. Nearly every gas station, mall, drug store and grocer in Minnesota has some fishing related products on their shelves.

And that moron and his green weenies think they're going to stop fishing in Minnesota?

I dare them to try.

Mr. Johnson seems to have the liberal MSM definition of the reason Americans are buying guns down perfectly. Of course, what can we expect from an 'almost colonial' who never quit sucking at the tit of the Queen?

Too, he confers upon Freedom loving Americans his state sponsored idea of what "freedom" is and how we should react to it. What more can be said about someone who thinks that believing in the 'rule of law' is brain-washing?

What he doesn't understand is 'freedom' as Americans know and understand it: that we are free to choose whether or not we buy a gun, carry a gun, have a permit to carry a gun. True to his liberal state controlled mind, he thinks every American has a closet full of firearms and one in each pocket of our clothes.

To Mr. Johnson's feeble mind, "tyranny" is believing in the laws that govern one's society and that we Americans have "no choice" in obeying our laws.

You people living in third world countries have yet to rise to a standard of living even close to what Americans enjoy. Yet you have the audacity- excuse me, the jealousy running rampant in your little mind- to criticise us and our laws?

If you don't like our laws, don't come here. It's as simple as that. If you're frightened that we all have guns, don't cross our borders. After all, it isn't like we're inviting you here- we don't need you or your kind. We kicked the shit out of your king and queen 235 years ago and we'll do it again. So, to finish this and be polite about it, I'll just tell you "good nite, and kiss my ass. If you could understand and realize there are other ways of thinking than that of a slave, you might have a choice."

This is aimed at Mr. Johnson, our northern neighbor, definitely not toward those freedom loving Canadians (being a transplanted Canadian, some of my family are among those) with whom we have so much in common. So please, no flaming letters of hate about how I'm denigrating Canadians. Or should I say "Canadiens"?

Seriously, folks: his concubine was a porn star (did anyone hear what some talk-show bimbo said about her "giving up her career for Tiger"? Do these TV sluts ever think before they say anything?). Really- how much of a life is a porn star giving up? What Tiger needs to do about her is hire two hookers who want to "make it big" and produce some real porn for his former concubine to learn from. Heck, maybe he can even sell his stuff to a real porn company and make more than she ever did.

As to the golf world- who the hell cares about golf? If this is all they're concerned with, they need to find a new hobby. "But Tiger's actions reflect upon our sport and give us a dirty face." Uh-huh... then pull your head out of his ass and let him live. He doesn't need you, you don't need him.

Okay, enough sports for one night. Let's get to some real food.

Dark Lord is wandering the West making more stump speeches for his little bad boys up for re-election... and of course, all the states he's visiting are in the doldrums, if not down-right pits, with their housing markets. So what does the great Stupid One do? Promises to make getting home loans easier for the very same people who couldn't afford them in the first place. Poor, poor California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and Michigan. Gee, like there's ever going to be "life" in those areas again.

Nothing like throwing gas on a fire to make more flames.

Finally, let's get a few things straightened out here about Joe What's-his-face. First, he was not a Conservative. He was a flaming liberal cry-baby whining because the fed wasn't giving him money or treating him like the kiss-ass wimp he was. Second, he was a chicken shit coward who cared only about himself and left a wife and kid (or two or three) to fend for themselves without him. Like his life was so miserable theirs is going to be better now they don't have a wussy to help feed, shelter and clothe them? Third, he didn't care about anything but his own bottom line, his bank account. He was too much a wimp to face starting over unless the fed gave him a handout. Fourth, he's a murderer. And now his kid(s) are going to grow up knowing their father was a selfish, cry baby murderer just because he couldn't get his way.

What this cretin really needed, more than money, was for his father to lay him across his lap and take a belt to his ass. Lots.

Joe, to answer your question as to "Why this had to happen?" It didn't have to happen- you made it happen. All because you weren't man enough to face reality, pull on your boots, get a real job and man-up.

If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
We are all taught as children that without laws there would be no society, only anarchy. Sadly, starting at early ages we in this country have been brainwashed to believe that, in return for our dedication and service, our government stands for justice for all. We are further brainwashed to believe that there is freedom in this place, and that we should be ready to lay our lives down for the noble principals represented by its founding fathers. Remember? One of these was “no taxation without representation”. I have spent the total years of my adulthood unlearning that crap from only a few years of my childhood. These days anyone who really stands up for that principal is promptly labeled a “crackpot”, traitor and worse.
While very few working people would say they haven’t had their fair share of taxes (as can I), in my lifetime I can say with a great degree of certainty that there has never been a politician cast a vote on any matter with the likes of me or my interests in mind. Nor, for that matter, are they the least bit interested in me or anything I have to say.
Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours? Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political “representatives” (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the “terrible health care problem”. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in.
And justice? You’ve got to be kidding!
How can any rational individual explain that white elephant conundrum in the middle of our tax system and, indeed, our entire legal system? Here we have a system that is, by far, too complicated for the brightest of the master scholars to understand. Yet, it mercilessly “holds accountable” its victims, claiming that they’re responsible for fully complying with laws not even the experts understand. The law “requires” a signature on the bottom of a tax filing; yet no one can say truthfully that they understand what they are signing; if that’s not “duress” than what is. If this is not the measure of a totalitarian regime, nothing is.
How did I get here?
My introduction to the real American nightmare starts back in the early ‘80s. Unfortunately after more than 16 years of school, somewhere along the line I picked up the absurd, pompous notion that I could read and understand plain English. Some friends introduced me to a group of people who were having ‘tax code’ readings and discussions. In particular, zeroed in on a section relating to the wonderful “exemptions” that make institutions like the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church so incredibly wealthy. We carefully studied the law (with the help of some of the “best”, high-paid, experienced tax lawyers in the business), and then began to do exactly what the “big boys” were doing (except that we weren’t steeling from our congregation or lying to the government about our massive profits in the name of God). We took a great deal of care to make it all visible, following all of the rules, exactly the way the law said it was to be done.
The intent of this exercise and our efforts was to bring about a much-needed re-evaluation of the laws that allow the monsters of organized religion to make such a mockery of people who earn an honest living. However, this is where I learned that there are two “interpretations” for every law; one for the very rich, and one for the rest of us… Oh, and the monsters are the very ones making and enforcing the laws; the inquisition is still alive and well today in this country.
That little lesson in patriotism cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0. It made me realize for the first time that I live in a country with an ideology that is based on a total and complete lie. It also made me realize, not only how naive I had been, but also the incredible stupidity of the American public; that they buy, hook, line, and sinker, the crap about their “freedom”… and that they continue to do so with eyes closed in the face of overwhelming evidence and all that keeps happening in front of them.
Before even having to make a shaky recovery from the sting of the first lesson on what justice really means in this country (around 1984 after making my way through engineering school and still another five years of “paying my dues”), I felt I finally had to take a chance of launching my dream of becoming an independent engineer.
On the subjects of engineers and dreams of independence, I should digress somewhat to say that I’m sure that I inherited the fascination for creative problem solving from my father. I realized this at a very young age.
The significance of independence, however, came much later during my early years of college; at the age of 18 or 19 when I was living on my own as student in an apartment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. My neighbor was an elderly retired woman (80+ seemed ancient to me at that age) who was the widowed wife of a retired steel worker. Her husband had worked all his life in the steel mills of central Pennsylvania with promises from big business and the union that, for his 30 years of service, he would have a pension and medical care to look forward to in his retirement. Instead he was one of the thousands who got nothing because the incompetent mill management and corrupt union (not to mention the government) raided their pension funds and stole their retirement. All she had was social security to live on.
In retrospect, the situation was laughable because here I was living on peanut butter and bread (or Ritz crackers when I could afford to splurge) for months at a time. When I got to know this poor figure and heard her story I felt worse for her plight than for my own (I, after all, I thought I had everything to in front of me). I was genuinely appalled at one point, as we exchanged stories and commiserated with each other over our situations, when she in her grandmotherly fashion tried to convince me that I would be “healthier” eating cat food (like her) rather than trying to get all my substance from peanut butter and bread. I couldn’t quite go there, but the impression was made. I decided that I didn’t trust big business to take care of me, and that I would take responsibility for my own future and myself.
Return to the early ‘80s, and here I was off to a terrifying start as a ‘wet-behind-the-ears’ contract software engineer... and two years later, thanks to the fine backroom, midnight effort by the sleazy executives of Arthur Andersen (the very same folks who later brought us Enron and other such calamities) and an equally sleazy New York Senator (Patrick Moynihan), we saw the passage of 1986 tax reform act with its section 1706.
For you who are unfamiliar, here is the core text of the IRS Section 1706, defining the treatment of workers (such as contract engineers) for tax purposes. SEC. 1706. TREATMENT OF CERTAIN TECHNICAL PERSONNEL.
(a) IN GENERAL - Section 530 of the Revenue Act of 1978 is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subsection:
(d) EXCEPTION. - This section shall not apply in the case of an individual who pursuant to an arrangement between the taxpayer and another person, provides services for such other person as an engineer, designer, drafter, computer programmer, systems analyst, or other similarly skilled worker engaged in a similar line of work.
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE. - The amendment made by this section shall apply to remuneration paid and services rendered after December 31, 1986.
Note:
"another person" is the client in the traditional job-shop relationship.
"taxpayer" is the recruiter, broker, agency, or job shop.
"individual", "employee", or "worker" is you.
Admittedly, you need to read the treatment to understand what it is saying but it’s not very complicated. The bottom line is that they may as well have put my name right in the text of section (d). Moreover, they could only have been more blunt if they would have came out and directly declared me a criminal and non-citizen slave. Twenty years later, I still can’t believe my eyes.
During 1987, I spent close to $5000 of my ‘pocket change’, and at least 1000 hours of my time writing, printing, and mailing to any senator, congressman, governor, or slug that might listen; none did, and they universally treated me as if I was wasting their time. I spent countless hours on the L.A. freeways driving to meetings and any and all of the disorganized professional groups who were attempting to mount a campaign against this atrocity. This, only to discover that our efforts were being easily derailed by a few moles from the brokers who were just beginning to enjoy the windfall from the new declaration of their “freedom”. Oh, and don’t forget, for all of the time I was spending on this, I was loosing income that I couldn’t bill clients.
After months of struggling it had clearly gotten to be a futile exercise. The best we could get for all of our trouble is a pronouncement from an IRS mouthpiece that they weren’t going to enforce that provision (read harass engineers and scientists). This immediately proved to be a lie, and the mere existence of the regulation began to have its impact on my bottom line; this, of course, was the intended effect.
Again, rewind my retirement plans back to 0 and shift them into idle. If I had any sense, I clearly should have left abandoned engineering and never looked back.
Instead I got busy working 100-hour workweeks. Then came the L.A. depression of the early 1990s. Our leaders decided that they didn’t need the all of those extra Air Force bases they had in Southern California, so they were closed; just like that. The result was economic devastation in the region that rivaled the widely publicized Texas S&L fiasco. However, because the government caused it, no one gave a shit about all of the young families who lost their homes or street after street of boarded up houses abandoned to the wealthy loan companies who received government funds to “shore up” their windfall. Again, I lost my retirement.
Years later, after weathering a divorce and the constant struggle trying to build some momentum with my business, I find myself once again beginning to finally pick up some speed. Then came the .COM bust and the 911 nightmare. Our leaders decided that all aircraft were grounded for what seemed like an eternity; and long after that, ‘special’ facilities like San Francisco were on security alert for months. This made access to my customers prohibitively expensive. Ironically, after what they had done the Government came to the aid of the airlines with billions of our tax dollars … as usual they left me to rot and die while they bailed out their rich, incompetent cronies WITH MY MONEY! After these events, there went my business but not quite yet all of my retirement and savings.
By this time, I’m thinking that it might be good for a change. Bye to California, I’ll try Austin for a while. So I moved, only to find out that this is a place with a highly inflated sense of self-importance and where damn little real engineering work is done. I’ve never experienced such a hard time finding work. The rates are 1/3 of what I was earning before the crash, because pay rates here are fixed by the three or four large companies in the area who are in collusion to drive down prices and wages… and this happens because the justice department is all on the take and doesn’t give a fuck about serving anyone or anything but themselves and their rich buddies.
To survive, I was forced to cannibalize my savings and retirement, the last of which was a small IRA. This came in a year with mammoth expenses and not a single dollar of income. I filed no return that year thinking that because I didn’t have any income there was no need. The sleazy government decided that they disagreed. But they didn’t notify me in time for me to launch a legal objection so when I attempted to get a protest filed with the court I was told I was no longer entitled to due process because the time to file ran out. Bend over for another $10,000 helping of justice.
So now we come to the present. After my experience with the CPA world, following the business crash I swore that I’d never enter another accountant’s office again. But here I am with a new marriage and a boatload of undocumented income, not to mention an expensive new business asset, a piano, which I had no idea how to handle. After considerable thought I decided that it would be irresponsible NOT to get professional help; a very big mistake.
When we received the forms back I was very optimistic that they were in order. I had taken all of the years information to Bill Ross, and he came back with results very similar to what I was expecting. Except that he had neglected to include the contents of Sheryl’s unreported income; $12,700 worth of it. To make matters worse, Ross knew all along this was missing and I didn’t have a clue until he pointed it out in the middle of the audit. By that time it had become brutally evident that he was representing himself and not me.
This left me stuck in the middle of this disaster trying to defend transactions that have no relationship to anything tax-related (at least the tax-related transactions were poorly documented). Things I never knew anything about and things my wife had no clue would ever matter to anyone. The end result is… well, just look around.
I remember reading about the stock market crash before the “great” depression and how there were wealthy bankers and businessmen jumping out of windows when they realized they screwed up and lost everything. Isn’t it ironic how far we’ve come in 60 years in this country that they now know how to fix that little economic problem; they just steal from the middle class (who doesn’t have any say in it, elections are a joke) to cover their asses and it’s “business-as-usual”. Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes… isn’t that a clever, tidy solution.
As government agencies go, the FAA is often justifiably referred to as a tombstone agency, though they are hardly alone. The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government. Nothing changes unless there is a body count (unless it is in the interest of the wealthy sows at the government trough). In a government full of hypocrites from top to bottom, life is as cheap as their lies and their self-serving laws.
I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.
I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer. The cruel joke is that the really big chunks of shit at the top have known this all along and have been laughing, at and using this awareness against, fools like me all along.
I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.
